Spellbinders | Hola Llama Cards. Die D-Lites Release Blog Hop. Video + Giveaway (Now Closed)
Hola amigas! No, I’ve not started to learn Spanish (although I’d love to one day!) but since I’m sharing fun Hola Llamas cards today I thought it would be fun to say Hola instead of Hello! Today I’m joining Spellbinders February Release Blog Hop #2 (catch blog hop #1 here) sharing fun cards created using Die D-Lites February 2018 cards.
As of September 2016 I work as an in-house creative designer at Spellbinders office in Phoenix. While I do a lot of work for them and create a number of different projects I am only sharing what I truly love made using their products here on my blog. I do not and never will share projects or mention products I not love.

CARDS DETAILS
I started working on these card by die-cutting circle and heart openings in A2 white card bases and kraft 4 x 5 1/4″ card front panels using my Spellbinders dies. I used a basic circle and heart dies for these. I taped the kraft panels onto card bases, taped the dies in the middle, opened card bases up and cut the openings in my Platinum die cutting machine.
Next, I die-cut and embossed Llamas and accessories to dress my llama guys up. My animals were cut out of Hero Arts 120 LB cardstock and colored using Copic markers – I used C1, C3 and R20. For the accessories I used Papertrey Ink Summer Sunrise, Raspberry Fizz, Classic Kraft and True Black cardstock as well as Simon Says Stamp Fog. I embossed all of these elements and inked the edges up using Distress ink in Wild Honey, Raspberry Fizz, Gathered Twigs.
To create scenes for my Llama cards I die-cut Saguaro and Fishhook cacti from the Cacti set out of Ripe Avocado and New Leaf PTI cardstock and inked them up with Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive distress ink. I also die-cut sentiments for these cards using the Hola Margarita set and Party Food – I cut out Hola and !Gracias!.
Along with the ink blending I also used a white gelly roll pen to add white details to the cacti, llama blankets and bow ties.
I also used some stamps to embellish the backgrounds of my cards. I didn’t decorate the heart window card, but for my circle cards I used Circle Saying stamp set from Simon Says stamp and white heat embossed Happy Birthday around the window opening and Sunburst Bold Prints background stamp from Hero Arts – stamped it in Barely Baige ink from Simon Says Stamp.
I added a white heat embossed on black sentiment that reads “You Are Literally The Best” to 2 of my cards. This stamp comes from tha YAY set by Cathy Zielske for Simon Says Stamp and finally I used clear droplets in small and medium size from Pretty Pink Posh to spice these cards ups.
I love how these projects turned out! I didn’t have any llama sentiments in my stash (like “You are a drama llama” or similar), but I was happy to find the Hola and Gracias dies from Spellbinders and used for those build my sentiments instead.

February 19, 2018I have never made a window card, and have no excuse! I have the dies to use, just used them to cut out circles. I will NOW make window cards! The llama card is so cute, I tried to order it, but it is out of stock. I will be trying to imitate this card when it is available, and will have to get the Hola and the cactus dies. so enjoyed the video! Thanks for sharing.

Spanish is my first language and I always struggle to find stamps and dies that allow me to deliver a nice message in my own language (specially for those who do not speak English, which are quite a few).
