Simon Says Stamp | Nuvo Mousse Background With A Stencil. Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hello, friends! Today I am thrilled to join Simon’s Encouraging Words Blog Hop and share another project I made using new goodies (more about the hop, new products and giveaway below).
As I started playing with new stencils from this release I wanted to create something and try something I haven’t yet done before (check out this link for some fun stencil techniques and ideas). I looked through my stash and came across Nuvo Mousses – I recently got a few delicious colors and decided to try and use mousse as a paste!

CARD DETAILS
I went with Citrus Green Mousse (I tried a few other colors and also tried mixing colors and blending them – but didn’t like final results) and Marilyn stencil to create a bold and vibrant background for this card. I applied a very generous amount of mousse onto my cardstock and heat set it with my heat tool to speed up the drying time (be careful doing this as the mousse might bubble up from the heat).
After adhering the background onto an A2 top folding card base, I stamped and watercolored a few simple florals from the Oh Happy Day stamp set, cut them out using coordinating dies in my Platinum machine and foam mounted them onto my card.
To create a sentiment I stamped and cut out “Friends” from the Friends Of Life stamp set and heat embossed “like you are never forgotten”. I foam mounted both sentiment pieces onto the card.
Finally, because I am simply obsessed with Nuvo Glaze these days I coated several sections with glaze. If you look closely, you can spot some parts of the design have glossy shine to them – those are coated with the glaze.
