CARD DETAILS
For these cards, I started by stamping the charming building images from the Darling District stamp set in black ink.
To add color, I used the coordinating layering stencils. There are five layers in this set, and they allow you to color every little detail of the buildings easily. I kept my color palette fairly simple, focusing on warm peachy tones paired with soft blues for a fresh, cohesive look.
One tip I love when working with these types of images is to think about the scene you’re creating. For example, I colored the windows blue to reflect a daytime sky, but you could easily switch things up for a nighttime look with darker tones or even glowing yellow windows.
After stenciling, I used the coordinating dies to cut out the buildings and backed them with an extra layer of cardstock to make them sturdier. This is especially helpful when adding foam adhesive for dimension.
To embellish the scene, I added floral clusters using the Cozy Blooms washi tape and coordinating dies. This is such an easy way to get beautifully detailed florals without any coloring.
For the background, I created a soft ink-blended sky on a mini slimline panel and then popped the buildings up with foam adhesive. I finished the cards with simple sentiments and a few clear drops for a bit of sparkle.
These cards are perfect for sending a thoughtful note to a friend, and I love how customizable they are with different color combinations and sentiments.
