Pretty Pink Posh | A Tropical Thank You Card featuring Layered Leaves & Flowers Stencil #prettypinkposh #cardmaking #handmadecard

Hello, friends! Today I’m excited to join Pretty Pink Posh for their June 2020 Release. I have one simple card to share featuring an oldie but goodie technique of ink blending with white pigment ink. Let’s jump right in!

CARD DETAILS

I used the new Layered Leaves & Flowers Stencils, but instead of using all 3 stencils together, I only used one, the leaves stencil. I love dark backgrounds and I often strive to have a dark background for my handmade card. Ink blending on a dark background isn’t easy, the ink, if you use dye ink, simply turns a shade darker than your background, regardless of the ink color you use. There is, however, a trick that can be used that allows the use of dye ink on dark background – white pigment ink.

I first ink blended the leaves using a white pigment ink pad, I used Hero Arts Unicorn White. I set the panel aside to dry and once the ink was dry to the touch (it does take a while as pigment ink takes a long time to dry), I ink blended the leaves using dark green ink. I offset the delight slightly for a more interesting look.

To turn this background into a card I heat embossed sentiment that reads “A Note of Thanks” from the new Simple Sentiments stamp set and added colorful berries using Nuvo Drops in Carnation Pink and English Mustard.
