Today I am making gift boxes for little Christmas gifts (think stocking stuffer or advent calendar type of gifts). I was looking to make small (and easy to make) boxes for my family and friends to put little gifts inside for this Christmas seasons and the Charming Cottage Christmas box from Spellbinders ended up being perfect. Not too small, pretty decent in size and can easily fit a small gift.

VIDEO TUTORIAL
As always, I filmed a video tutorial showing how to create this project from start to finish. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it. Watch it below or on my Youtube channel.
LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS GIFT BOX IDEAS
To make the box you’ll need to die-cut it twice out of patterned paper (or cardstock). The Charming Cottage Christmas set consists of a box die itself and additional parts and pieces to decorate the box and turn it into a little cottage. It’s a super versatile set and one that allows to do a ton of customization to your box if you want to. I didn’t use additional dies as I was looking to make quick and easy gift boxes and didn’t have much time to do additional die cutting. I was looking to make about 20 boxes, so the simpler the better was for me.
I used Alexandra Renke Christmas patterned papers for all of these today, I simply adore the clean Scandinavian design of these. One 12×12″ sheet will make one box, plus you’ll have some left over paper too if you want to use it for another half box or for something else entirely.
Once I had all of my boxes made I moved onto decorating and here you can really do anything you like. I wanted to make sure I had a “to and from” tag on each of those to be able to write who the box is for. I looked through my stash and found several beautiful tag stamp sets from Hero Arts and so I used those to make little tags for the boxes. I also made bows out of red satin ribbon and gold thread and added 2 gold jingle bells onto each.
When it came to attaching the bow and secondary tags onto the box I used a little clip and only clipped it onto one of the flaps so that it didn’t prevent me from opening the box to put the gift in or the recipient to get the gift out.

Yana, these little gift boxes are GORGEOUS!!! The recipient WILL KNOW there is SOMETHING SPECIAL inside with the way you’ve decked them out! 😉
Woww!! These are super awesome!! Love the colors and the details! <3
These boxes are so cute!!
The red bows just give them the WOW factor for sure.
Gorgeous boxes!!!
I’m completely falling in love with Alexandra Renke paper and washi tape!!! Don’t own any … yet! It’s on the list — as are some of the products you show case in this video. Love that little box. I’m going to be participating in a craft fair next fall and am looking for some different items to make to sell (along with cards). These boxes just might be perfect (along with a few other items I’ve made and have in the works). Thanks so much, Yana, for sharing and for the introduction to the wonderful world of Alexander Renke!! Oh, and I was just thinking about you yesterday when I was thinking about tying a bow on something. I really struggle with it looking nice and then I remembered how you do it. And then you show it in this video. Great timing!!!!! How did you know???!!! (You may be gone from AZ and the USA, but your presence, talent and generosity lingers on here … at least in my life.)
These are such gorgeous gift boxes!!
These are so beautiful Yana, How special would it be to get a gift in one of these beautiful boxes, simply gorgeous.
Delightful little gift boxes, Yana! Love how you dressed them up.
Love making little boxes for my card class treats (thank you treat). These are just adorable! I especially like that you added your embellishment that will not interfere with opening the box. Cable boxes are great for that, but I will incorporate that tip the next time I make one. Love your design style! Hugs and Merry Christmas.
Yana, these are simply stunning!!! I absolutely LOVE how you’ve dressed them up!! I would feel so special to be the recipient of one of these, and I’m sure your family & friends will too!!
