Today I’m sharing one more house card created using my Everyday City Holiday collection from Spellbinders. For this project, I wanted to try something a little different and use patterned paper for the main building – and I love how it turned out.

CARD DETAILS
I die-cut the main building from patterned paper to mimic the look of florals painted directly onto a house. When choosing patterned paper for this type of project, go for a smaller-scale print so the design doesn’t get lost.
The die leaves subtly impressed lines for window and door placement, which makes assembly easy – just tilt the piece in the light to see the guides.
For my color palette, I combined sage, coral, and soft blush tones (blush and bellini) with a mix of greens (peridot and rainforest). This was a bit of an experiment for me, but I really like how fresh and soft this combination feels.
For the windows, I layered white cardstock with vellum to mute the pattern behind them. I alternated awnings and flower boxes across the windows to keep the design from feeling too busy, popping them up with foam adhesive for dimension.
I added the house to a 5×7 top-folding card base and finished the background with lots of tiny die-cut flowers to create a soft floral field around the building.
This design has quite a bit of detail, but that layered look is part of the charm. Feel free to customize yours with elements from your stash – little details can make it even more fun.
