Simon Says Stamp | Limited Edition Halloween Card Kit – Treat Bag Toppers. Blog Hop + Video
Hello everyone! Today we are celebrating release of Simon Says Stamp limited edition Halloween Card Kit (UPDATE: this kit is now sold out, but many items are available individually, check below for links) and I have a fun project to share! I decided not to make a card this time, but create several treat bag toppers using stamps and other supplies from my kit. These are easy to make and surely fun to use!

VIDEO TUTORIAL
I’ve filmed a video tutorial where I explain the process in detail. Watch my video below or on my Youtube channel:

PROJECT DETAILS
I started by die cutting the banner shapes out of watercolor paper using Simon’s Stitched Banners Dies. You can fold you paper in half and cut a double layer with a fold at the top if you are using thinner paper, but I was using thick watercolor paper so I cut two piece for each banner separately and just glued them together.
I first planned to do a watercolor background, but decided to blend some Distress inks instead. I used Black Soot, Wilted Violet and Milled Lavender for a nice light purple to black gradient. I also added drops of water using my sprayer bottle and lots of shimmer using Mica Sprays. I stamped spiderwebs, spiders and bats using VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat embossed these in clear embossing powder.
The back of each banner was decorated using patterned paper from the kit.
I wanted to use each of the Halloween figures from the stamp set that is included in this kit, so stamped all in VersaFine Onyx Black ink onto watetrcolor paper and colored using Distress inks. Images were cut out using scissors and foam mounted onto the banners for a pop of dimension.
I couldn’t resist adding dimensional eyes to each image – they make them look so crazy and fun!
