Colorado Craft Company | Cardmaking & Coloring in Graphic Style. Video + Giveaways (Now Closed)

Hello! Today I have something very special to share with all of you and I also have a giveaway to thank you for being my loyal subscribers and viewers. There are 5 giveaways sponsored by Colorado Craft Company.

Colorado Craft Company is a newer stamp company. I have shared a video and several projects with their products back in July 2019 and January 2020 and I had an absolute blast creating with their stamps. What I love most about their designs is their huge size. The images, especially in their Big & Bold line, are very large and easily take center stage on an A2 card and can readily be used on larger projects.

I have 3 cards to share with you all featuring their new Big & Bold stamp line, the new designs for July 2020. These are available exclusively at Simon Says Stamp for the first 2 days after the launch, so July 3rd and July 4th, and after that, on July 5th they will also become available on the Colorado Craft Company’s website.

VIDEO TUTORIAL

Watch the video tutorial below or on Youtube to learn how I made the cards I’m sharing today.

BIG & BOLD SETS BY COLORADO CRAFT COMPANY

Each of the Big & Bold sets features one large size image that easily takes up the entire space of an A2 card and the stamp sets also have a number of coordinating sentiments done in various styles to complement the image.

Because of the size of these images, you have the freedom to really go to town with your favorite coloring mediums and add as many details as you like. You also have a lot of room to dress up your cards with additional mediums and add in more detail with a white pen for example, or glossy accents.

CARDS DETAILS

I started to work on my cards by stamping my images in Copic Marker friendly ink, Simon Says Stamp Intense Black, on white cardstock. I’ve done some prep work and have picked the colors of markers I wanted to use to color my flamingo. I tested various combinations and I also tested various alcohol markers, not just Copics. I ended up deciding to use RV10, RV21, and RV23, those are Copic markers and 453 marker, which is a Nuvo marker by Tonic Studios.

Included in the flamingo set is beautiful tropical greenery. I stamped it in black ink and my idea was to color it, cut it out and layer over my bird. I also stamped a sentiment, it reads Tickled Pink that we are friends. I adhered my panel to the A2 white side folding card base, next I added Pink Blush Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh and covered the image with Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen to add some shimmery shine to my flamingo.

The hummingbird card features some masking. I stamped the image of the hummingbird, masked it and stamped flowers cascading from the top down. I ended up having 4 flowers creating a busy floral background for my bird. I used very similar marker colors to do my coloring. I went with RV10, R83, and RV19.
The leaves were colored using Altenew markers and I used G702, G715, and G554. The bird was colored using:

I also used a B000 marker to color the background light blue. I love this trick – using my Copic markers to add color to the background. I stamped a sentiment in black ink on a separate piece of paper, cut it out and foam mounted onto the card. Next, I used a white pen and cleaned up the flower stamens a bit and again used a Nuvo shimmer pen to add shimmer and shine to my bird.

I’ve found the peacock image the hardest to color using my no blending method. I think that is probably because I’ve never colored a peacock before and I just had no idea where to start. To make things easier for myself, and you can use this trick also, I used a pencil and sectioned the image indicating what color each section needed to be. That made the coloring so much easier! In a way, this ended up being like paint by number.

      Lip colour: Burgundy!

      1. Wow, how gorgeous are these cards? They are phenomenal, I love this technique, because I literally hate blending colors. I think I have found a new love with this technique, you do amazing work. I can’t wait to try this. These stamps are beautiful and so LARGE. I am so excited about learning about this new stamp company. I can’t wait to order from them. As far as lip color goes….my absolute favorite is Clinique Raspberry Glace.

      1. Love the birds. I’ve never colored an image so big on a card before. My favorite alcohol markers are the spectrun noir tri blends. My favorite lipstick is plum.

    1. I am so in love with your card and technique you are doing to color

As for lip color hum I never get that far in my day

    1. Love the bold cards. Thank you for sharing. I would love to try this technique. My favourite lip colour is plum.

    1. These bold, huge stamps are great! Love all the cards you made with them. I love copic markers. Will have to check out the shimmer pens!

    1. Yana your cards are absolutely beautiful. I just love this way of coloring and really need to make time to try it. As to lip color I have to say I only use moisturizing lip balm with no color.

    1. I am really enjoying your no line coloring! I think one of the big stamps would be perfect to learn on! It reminds me a bit o anime!!

    1. These cards are stunning! I adore that peacock and love your no-blending technique – the graphic look of this technique has me swooning.

I don’t wear lipstick so I don’t have a favorite color, but I was drooling over the color of your nails in the video for these cards!

    1. These cards are gorgeous! You have such an incredible eye for color and design and everything you do looks original. Thank you for being so generous! Favorite lip color is berry 😀

    1. OMG Yana! Absolutely beautiful! I’m a huge fan of 3C Big & Bold series, and I love watching you color! These cards are absolutely stunning!

My favorite lip color is RED (more in the blue tone than orange) LOL… I’d be curious, as to what YOURS is? *smiles*
Huge thank you for the process videos!

    1. I love your coloring technique! I have to give it a try! I usually use Copics for coloring but blend them. I use Burt’s Bees Fig on my lips!

    1. My favorite coloring method is copic markers. I haven’t colored in several years even though I have more than 100 markers. You have greatly inspired me to try again. I am in love with this new modern coloring method you have been showing. I don’t like anything modern but I do love this Copic result. By the way, my favorite lip color is natural. I prefer lip balm with no color.

    1. Love these new bird stamps!! So different from everything I’ve seen lately! And anything bird makes me happy!! Favorite lip color: anything shimmery pink!

    1. I love your no blend colouring and doing this on these large images is absolutely stunning! Thank you so much for the inspiration to try something new and so visually stunning.
Lip colour – I am finding natural suits me better as I get older, with a little bit of gloss from lip balm.

    1. Stunning cards and stamp sets Yana! I just wear good old lip gloss! ‍♀️ Thanks so much for the chance to win!

    1. Stunning cards and beautiful stamps! You are a great inspiration, love your coloring. Lip color I got a say nude

    1. I was fascinated watching your coloring. My favorite way to color is blending with COPICS. At least I try to blend . I never wear lip color. Just chapstick.

    1. Wow, these stamps are beautifully designed and really make a gorgeous statement! I really like the sentiments too! I’ve been wearing Estée Lauder Rubellite lipstick for years, so I guess I’m in the mauve family.

    1. I have watched your new technique and I really think I can do it. I don’t have a lot of Copics and I am glad I can mix with other brands. I think the hummingbird is one I need to do this technique as it has big bird and big flowers. I never was one to wear lipstick, I find that lip gloss in a clear suits me.

    1. Hi Yana..love your cards as always..I can’t really pick a fav but just picking one it would be the Hummingbird

    1. Love this new coloring technique! My favorite lip color is Burt’s Bees Grapefruit Lip Shimmer.

    1. Wow, fabulous cards and loving the no blending colouring technique too. Incredibly impactful big and bold designs. My favourite lip colour is L’Oréal Colour Riche 362.

    1. Beautiful cards and enjoyed seeing a different way to color with copic markers. My favorite lip color would be a deep pinky mauve.

    1. These cards are beautiful. My favorite lip color is mauve colors.

    1. Wow these cards are stunning!!! Right now I am into water coloring but I also love copics. I need to try this technique! Favorite lip color – anything neutral! Thank you for sharing.

    1. Love the new stamps and the concept of no blend coloring sounds great. While creating a wonderful look, it may simplify the process.

    1. Gorgeous new big & bold bird sets… all are awesome. Love your outstanding marker colored cards. I enjoy coloring with Zig markers so would love to try these sets with those. Thanks for your give away offer. I mostly only wear lip gloss; Burt’s Bees original or peppermint are my favorites.

    1. These cards are stunning! I love these large stamps and I especially love birds! Thank you for sharing your tutorial on YouTube! Watercolour is my favourite colouring technique. My favourite lip colour is raspberry. Thank you for this chance at winning these fabulous Colorado Craft Co stamps!

    1. loving these stamp the new big and bold. I color with watercolors and colors pencil need to invest in some markers

    1. I am just floored by the way you colored the 3 new large image stamp sets by Colorado Craft Co. They are absolutely gorgeous. I have some Copic markers and lots of other coloring markers and paints but I am going to try your method, which by the way, does look like cartooning, just like you said, and I love it. Thanks for sharing that video.

    1. So lovely, snazzy, & bold! Beautiful!
My favorite lip color is a soft pink.

    1. WOW! You are a phenomenal artist, and these bird cards are some of your best! Especially LOVE the peacock!
      (I just wear lip gloss.)

    1. I have been following you for quite sometime as I have so enjoyed your card projects very much. I’ve learned a lot about coloring, gotten fabulous ideas from your cards and now a different way of coloring with alcohol inks. I don’t have many to use to blend well so that’s why the style you used in these 3 cards has me hoping I can use what I gave better. Thank you so much for always sharing your stunning artwork and for me to have a chance to win one of these sets.

    1. I love your creative eye! You make wonderful choices and do amazing things with them! Your flow is so natural!
When I use lipstick, it rose with a very subtle frost!

    1. Yana, learning your technique with copics really enhanced my ability to use copics, before I often messed up blending and it was frustrating. Today, my favorite is the Flamingo, she is gorgeous, however, I learned so much when you colored in the Peacock from the partition and drawing in pencil the color right on the bird to the background; thanks for all that you teach.

    1. I love the no line watercoloring or using markers. The stamps are so great and you did a fabulous job coloring them. Thanks for the ideas! Lip color is Choco-liscious.

    1. Your cards are stunning. The colors you chose are fantastic together. I’m just getting started with coloring. I believe the peacock is my favorite!! For lip color…I only use Bert’s Bees lip balm.

    1. I love coloring but am still pretty new. My favorite mediums are water based, including watercolors and real brush markers. I love the new Big and Bold stamps, especially the flamingo.

My favorite lip color is a mauvey nude.

    1. I am impressed with this way to use copics. They are my favourites but I just love to colour so I have watercolour pencils, watercolour paints, zig real brush markers and also use my distress inks to watercolour. In fact I have way to many sets but love them all. Lip gloss is my favourite.

    1. Absolutely stunning, Yana, and I am totally excited about this coloring technique. I am an older woman and not much of a lipstick girl but on those special occasions, I will add something neutral and glossy, that hopefully helps my lips look a bit fuller (did you know that as you age, the lips actually get thinner….’oh the ravages of time’ LOL!

      1. I love these stamps and I am impressed with your work and colouring. I’ve just bought full set of alcohol markers so one of them would be a perfect start.

    1. So beautiful! I love these stamp sets and I especially love how you chose to use them. I don’t usually wear lipstick but every now and then I like a bright red.

    1. I love the coloring on your cards. My favorite lip colors are mauve pinks.

    1. I love this! These are beautiful. I haven’t tried coloring with the no blending technique but I want to.

    1. Kissy fit by Clinique
Beautiful coloring. Love love love flamingo pink!

    1. These are fantastic! Your no blending technique is super cool but looks really intimidating to try!
Lip color: probably just nude or a slight berry tint. I don’t think I look good in lipsticks.

    1. I love this technique! I want to try it. I can’t choose which i like more: the flamingo or the hummingbird. Will have to give this a try. Otherwise I like coloring with pencils for its relaxing (and forgiving) factor.
