Altenew | Hello Sunshine Floral Wreath Card. November Release Blog Hop + Giveaway (Now Closed)
Hello there! Thank you for stopping by to help celebrate Altenew November 2016 Release (more about this release and blog hop below). There are many great stamp sets to play with and I am anxious to share a card I made using one of them – Hello Sunshine. This is a bigger 6×8 stamp set with stunning floral images that are just perfect for coloring.
Like this card? Pin it and save for later!
CARD DETAILS
I made this card at a crafty retreat a few weeks ago right in the middle of the Coloring Challenge by Kathy Racoosin;Â naturally, I couldn’t resist trying a new coloring medium and spending a few minutes/hours coloring. I used individual images from the Hello Sunshine stamp set and formed them into a beautiful floral wreath.
I did very little masking – I didn’t bring a lot of supplies with me to the retreat, so I had to use what I had and that was washi tape – so I masked my images with the help of washi.
The coloring medium I’ve been wanting to try is Prismacolor Pencils; I used them here to color these florals. Fantastic pencils and I’ll probably invest in a set for myself at the end of the year, that would make a nice Christmas gift. These pencils are soft and easy to blend and don’t take a lot of time to learn how to use. A definite must-have!
After I finished my coloring I stamped Hello Sunshine in the middle and added light gray pencil shading on the inside of the wreath. When I got home from the retreat I heat embossed You Make My World Brighter in white embossing powder onto black cardstock and foam mounted it onto my panel using black foam adhesive. I also trimmed my panel down to 4 x 5 1/4″ and foam mounted it onto a gray card base for a pop of dimension. I finished the card by adhering several clear droplets and by adding white gel pen dots here and there.
I have another card I made using new stamps and I’ll be sharing it in the next few weeks on my blog, so stay tuned!

November 15, 2016. I have problems with the prisma pencils flaking on the point so I recommend the Faber -Castell Polychromes. You might want to buy a few pencils in open stock (individually) and see which you like best.

November 15, 2016Fantastic card. The fun florals of hello sunshine definitely cry out for bright colouring. I have the 24 set of prismacolour pencils. I have had them for quite a while but I’m ashamed to say I have only used the white. It is not because of the pencils, it is because I seem to feel overwhelmed but all the wonderful colouring I see on many blogs I just don’t know where to start. I hope your family or friends reads your blog and pops some pencils in your Christmas stocking.
Rose J
November 15, 2016Absolutely gorgeous card! Love your design with this set. I’ve never used Prismacolors but am very tempted to invest because of all the positive comments about them.

Sadly, I have never used the artist grade Prismacolours, all I have are the ones left over from when my children were in school.
