To celebrate this day I made one of my favorite kinds of cards and incorporated a few of my most-loved techniques!

CARD DETAILS

I started working on my card by stamping a background pattern using one of the images from the Winter Woodland stamp set from Winnie & Walter. I picked the pine branch and also used Hero Arts Green Ombre ink for my stamping. By using this particular ink and not just a one color ink pad I was able to add a lot of interest to this otherwise simple stamped background.

I stamped the branch a few times always rotating it and making sure it faced a different direction every time. Next, I trimmed my panel to 4 x 5 1/4″ and foam mounted onto an A2 side folding card base.

To create a sentiment for this project I used another trick I love lately – I heat embossed a skinny sentiments strip “Season’s Greetings” from the Comfort + Joy set in white embossing powder onto black cardstock 3 times, trimmed each into a narrow strip and foam mounted onto my card using black foam adhesive.

Finally, to embellish this card I added number of brown drops using Nuvo Crystal Drops in Dark Walnut to imitate pinecones.
