Simon Says Stamp | Purrfect Holidays Cat Christmas Card. Create Joy Release Blog Hop

Hello all and thank you for joining us to help celebrate Simon’s new Create Joy release. It is yet another fabulous release with lots of gorgeous products to play with and create with.

I’m excited to share a card created using Christmas Cats stamp and die set. As a huge cat person and cat lover I’m super happy there’s now a stamp set that features two different cats. My husband and I have 2 kitties and they are just like the kitties in the set – one is round-ish, the other is long-ish lol!

Here’s a photo of our kitties, they are both black with a bit of brown and grey mixed in. I am yet to learn how to color them using Copics for my cards. It nice to practice a bit.

To create the card I’m sharing today I started by stamping a partial background using the antlers image from the stamp set and brown ink. I also stamped a ball of yarn using red, I shared this photo on my instagram feed the other day:

I stamped my kitty using Memento Tuxedo black ink onto white cardstock, colored using Copic Markers (used C5, C7 and C9) also also stamped and colored a present and ear muffs from another stamp set. I used matching dies and cut everything out, foam mounted together and foam mounted onto my card base:

I had to add a touch of glittery snow to my project so I heat embossed the present and ear muffs using Sparkle embossing powder from Hero Arts. Love the result! To add a touch of red I heat embossed a ball of yarn about 10 times onto red cardstock, cut it out using a matching die and foam mounted onto my project.

    1. What a great card with such imagination using the cat antler head-band thingy for a background. Your kitties have such silky, beautifully colored fur. It will be hard to match that color.

Your kitties are super cute, that fluffy belly fur is just the loveliest! My Bella had a fluffy belly like that and I loved to kiss that tummy. So soft and sweet! SO yes… I am a cat person, for sure. I love most animals, but cats are special. Currently socializing four stray kitties for our local shelter, so that they can get good homes. Fingers crossed for them? 🙂

    1. Cool card! Such a unique background, love it. And how’d you get your cats to pose for such a great picture??

    1. I am a cat and a dog person. By dog is a cat person, but my cat is not particularly a dog person, so things get exciting around here! Love your card, and new idea for usage of an Antler stamp! Very creative!

    1. I love what you did for the border–it turned out stunningly! Great way to think outside the box!

    1. Pretty kitties! I am such a cat person. This card is adorably funny! The background is brilliant!

    1. Even thou I’m a dog person I really think your card is cute! My father has a cat that looks like yours 🙂
