STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Here’s a quick step-by-step overview of how this card came together:
- Heat emboss the image
Stamp the floral image onto heavyweight white cardstock and heat emboss using gold embossing powder. This will create a crisp outline and help guide your coloring. - Color the image
Use Copic markers to do simple coloring. I used YG03, YG17, YG67 for the leaves and Y17, RV00, RV11, RV34 for the flowers. - Die cut the image
Use the coordinating die to cut out the colored floral cluster. - Prepare the sentiment
Heat emboss your main sentiment in gold embossing powder and cut it out using a coordinating die (I used “Thank You”), set it aside. - Create the card base
Make an A2 card base (4 1/4 x 5 1/2”) and add a 3 3/4 x 5” panel on top with the help of foam adhesive. - Add background detail
Stamp a sub-sentiment vertically onto the panel to add subtle interest without overpowering the design. - Assemble the card
Foam mount the floral cluster onto the card front. Add the main sentiment using foam adhesive as well to create dimension. - Finish with embellishments
Add a few drops or embellishments to complete the card.
CARD DETAILS
I started to work on this card by heat embossing the flower image in Antique Gold embossing powder on the Simon Says Stamp #130 lb cardstock. Next, I used my Copic markers and did simple coloring using the following markers: YG03, YG17, YG67, Y17, RV00, RV11, RV34.
Next, I cut it out using the coordinating die and also created and cut out the sentiment, Thank you. I created an A2 card base for my card and added a 3 3/4 x 5″ panel on top. I stamped a sub-sentiment vertically, to add visual interest. I foam-mounted my floral cluster, and my sentiment and finished the card using drops.
