Hello, friends! It’s officially advent calendar season in my craft room! I know it’s only August, but this is usually when I start seeing advent calendars from some of my favorite brands, and I absolutely love it. Every year, a friend and I send each other links, compare calendars, talk about which ones look interesting, and eventually decide which ones we’re buying.
I typically buy an advent calendar for my mom, one for a close friend, and, of course, at least one for myself. Sometimes two. Maybe three if something really catches my eye. What can I say? I love advent calendars! And while I can eventually get a little tired of skincare or makeup advent calendars, crafty advent calendars are a completely different story. A new crafty surprise every day in December? Yes, please.
Today we’re taking a look at the Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar 2026, which is now available. And before we go any further, I have something very important to tell you: There are NO spoilers in this post or video. We’re not opening any of the 24 compartments today. If you’re someone who loves the surprise of an advent calendar, you’re safe here.

What Is the Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar?
The Crafty Advent Calendar contains 24 crafty surprises designed especially for cardmakers.
According to the packaging, those surprises include a mix of:
- Cutting dies
- Stamps
- Stencils
- Embossing folders
- Embellishments
That’s one of the things I enjoy about the Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar. You’re not opening 24 versions of essentially the same product. There is a variety of cardmaking supplies inside, which gives you different techniques and ideas to explore throughout December. You will need to add your own cardstock, inks, and adhesive, but the calendar provides the fun part – a new crafty product to discover every day.
A Crafty Excuse to Slow Down in December
For me, a crafty advent calendar is about more than the products inside. December can get incredibly busy. There are holiday preparations, work, shopping, decorating, cooking, family commitments, and approximately 900 other things competing for our attention. Opening one little compartment gives me an excuse to stop.
Open the day’s surprise, sit down at the craft table, and spend 30 minutes or an hour making something. You don’t necessarily have to complete an elaborate card every day, either.
You could simply die-cut the new design, test the stencil, emboss a piece of cardstock, or experiment with a color combination. The point is to create a little pocket of crafty time during an otherwise very busy month. That’s probably my favorite part of the whole advent calendar experience.
What Was the Previous Crafty Advent Calendar Like?
Last year, I challenged myself to create with all 24 surprises from the 2025 Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar. If you’re curious about the general experience of a Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar, you can find those projects on my YouTube channel.
Of course, the products inside the 2026 calendar are different, but looking at previous years can give you a general idea of the variety of projects that can come from one of these calendars without revealing this year’s surprises. And I’m planning to keep this year’s surprises exactly that – surprises. The first product won’t be revealed here today. You’ll have to wait until December 1st!
Other Spellbinders Boxes and Kits
If you enjoy the whole experience of receiving a curated box of crafty products, there are a couple of other options I mentioned in the video. One is the Just Add Cake birthday cardmaking kit. Rather than being an advent calendar, this is a themed box specifically geared toward birthday cardmaking.
I also mentioned Dear Santa, the 2026 Christmas card kit. I’ve previously shared both an unboxing and card inspiration using that kit. These products offer a slightly different experience from the Crafty Advent Calendar. With a kit, you can see the collection and begin working with everything immediately. With the advent calendar, the mystery is part of the experience. And for me, that’s exactly the appeal.
What About a Halloween Advent Calendar?
If you’ve followed Spellbinders’ advent releases in previous years, you may remember other calendar formats. Last year there was a Halloween Crafty Advent Calendar, which was extremely popular. For 2026, the Halloween advent option I mentioned in the video is the Hero Arts HeroWeen Advent Calendar.

The HeroWeen calendar is a separate product from the Spellbinders Crafty Advent Calendar we’re looking at today. One is for spooky season. One gives you 24 everyday crafty surprises. Obviously, the logical solution is both. I’m kidding. Mostly.
