Paper Smooches | Christmas in July! Merry Christmas Watercolor Card. Blog Hop + Giveaway

I love Paper Smooches style, their quirky images always make me laugh! To create this card I used one of their older Swanky Snowdudes set and paired it with the new Wavy Wishes sentiment set (available July 31st).

CARD DETAILS
I started working on my card by stamping snowdudes and ornaments in black ink onto Arches Hot Pressed watercolor paper. I used my Daniel Smith watercolors and colored these using traditional red, green and white. To add shading to  white areas I used a hint of gray and colored just parts of the snowmen to add a bit of depth to these images.
I cut my dudes out with scissors and die-cut ornaments using coordinating dies and set aside. To create a background for this card I blended Tumbled Glass Distress ink onto Distress watercolor panel and added droplets of water. After my panel had dried, I stamped “Merry Christmas” sentiment and foam mounted this panel onto an A2 top folding card base.
I used foam adhesive and adhered my die cuts in place forming a scene. I also used a paintbrush and painted ornament strings.
Lastly, I coated each of the ornaments with Nuvo Glaze, this added some shine and gloss and made my ornaments appear dimensional.
