CARD DETAILS
This month’s clubs are all about Christmas, and I absolutely love how versatile they are. One thing worth mentioning is just how popular the Spellbinders Club Kits have become. The All Clubs Crate sold out incredibly quickly last month, and the July All Clubs Crate sold out as well. Individual clubs, however, are still available, making it easy to subscribe only to the kits that fit your crafting style.
I have many favorites this month. First up is the Small Die of the Month. It features the cutest little penguins complete with hats, scarves, skis, and snowy hills. I used the dies to create a fun interactive card where the penguin slides down a snowy slope (watch my video to see that card). By combining the penguin with a sliding track die from my stash, I was able to create a playful Christmas card with lots of movement.
The Large Die of the Month is equally impressive. This set includes dies to build a layered Christmas tree along with Santa, an elf, ornaments, and festive lights. I especially enjoyed adding extra tree layers to create a fuller design and pairing the scene with the beautiful 3D Embossing Folder of the Month.
Speaking of the 3D embossing folder – it may actually be the favorite product of mine this month. The oversized holiday typography creates incredible texture and works beautifully on both light and dark cardstock. Even when only portions of the words are visible, your eye naturally completes the sentiments, making it an interesting background that doesn’t compete with the focal point.
Another standout is the Stitching Die of the Month featuring an adorable reindeer. I stitched the little sweater using white thread but left the rest of the die cuts unstitched. That’s one of the things I appreciate about these stitching dies – you can choose to stitch as much or as little as you’d like.
The BetterPress of the Month offers another beautiful option for holiday cards. I chose to hot foil the background in gold instead of letterpress printing it, proving once again how versatile BetterPress plates can be. The coordinating sentiment plate creates three greetings at once, making it easy to build a stash of holiday sentiments.
The Clear Stamp & Die Club perfectly complements the other clubs this month with cheerful holiday greetings that coordinate with the penguins, Santa, elf, reindeer, and other images throughout the release.
I hope today’s projects give you lots of inspiration for your holiday crafting. Whether you’re drawn to the adorable penguins, the layered Christmas tree, the stitched reindeer, or the gorgeous embossed backgrounds, this month’s clubs offer plenty of opportunities to create beautiful handmade Christmas cards.
