Hero Arts | Merry Christmas Card. Winter Catalog Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hello there! Thank you for stopping by today to help celebrate the launch of Hero Arts Winter 2017 products (more about this hop, new products and giveaway below)! Having spent an entire Summer in Phoenix I am very excited and anxious for cooler weather and lower temperatures and especially for the Holiday season!
The card I am sharing today (along with other cards from me for the Winter catalog) was made back in June when it was unbearably hot and truth be told it was quite a challenge to get into a Holiday mood. Thankfully, Christmas tunes and ice cream helped!

CARD DETAILS
This card uses 3 new stamps: a gorgeous background stamp Christmas Poster (it’s a woodblock stamp so it also makes a great decor piece on a shelf, you can catch a part of it on my photo above and below); fabulous Merry Christmas Script sentiment (this one is also a woodblock one, there’s a similar one – Season’s Greetings that is also gorgeous) and Color Layering Holly – a must have clear set for stamping beautiful leaves.
To create this card I first heat embossed Christmas Poster background onto an olive cardstock panel cut to 4 x 5 1/2″ (the Olive cardstock is from Simon and is unfortunately discontinued) in white embossing powder. To make the paper darker at the bottom I blended Forever Green ink going across the panel (I didn’t blend any at the top). The ink stained my heat embossing a bit, so I lightly wiped the card with a cloth sprayed with Hero’s Ultra Clean. I foam mounted my panel onto an A2 white top folding card base.
I also used same white embossing powder and heat embossed Merry Christmas sentiment onto a red cardstock panel and foam mounted it onto my card. To stamp the holly leaves and berries I used several shades of green and red (I’m listing all colors in the Supplies section below), cut them mount with my scissors (there are coordinating dies available, but I didn’t have them at the time) and adhered onto my card.
Lastly, I coated berries with some glitter using Wink Of Stella glitter pen and Glossy Accents.

August 23, 2017This is a gorgeous card. It has inspired me to make one just like it yet not at all like it. The banner, leaves & berries on the front, the story page on the inside (like a mini-mini book, and another page for a few sentences. Thanks so very much for the inspiration.
