Hi friends! I’m thrilled to share a deep dive into another beautiful product from my Yana’s Daisies collection with Spellbinders — the brand-new Daisy Shower BetterPress Plate launched on April 10th. Unlike my previous designs, this one was created specifically for 5×7 cards, and it’s paired with a stunning coordinating stencil set to help bring those florals to life.

A NEW SIZE FOR MORE POSSIBILITIES
This is my first 5×7 BetterPress Plate, and I couldn’t be more excited! While I’ve always loved designing for A2 cards, working with a 5×7 format lets you create larger, more impactful backgrounds — perfect for statement cards. Of course, the plate is still versatile enough to trim down for A2 projects.
The plate measures slightly over 5″ x 7″, giving you enough wiggle room for trimming. Whether you go full 5×7 or downsize, you’ll love the detail it adds to your designs.
WHAT’S IN THE BUNDLE?
You can purchase the Daisy Shower BetterPress Plate on its own or as a bundle with the coordinating coloring stencil. Please note: the stencils are not available separately, so if you think you’ll want them, definitely grab the bundle!
Just like my other BetterPress background plates, this one creates a negative design — pressing the ink into the background while leaving the daisy motifs uninked. The result is a dramatic and elegant floral arrangement.

TIPS FOR INKING LARGE PLATES
With a plate this size, you’ll want to make inking as easy as possible. I highly recommend Spellbinders’ DIY blank BetterPress ink pads — you can fill them using the re-inkers in your favorite colors (or even custom mix your own ombré blends!).
Smaller ink pads work fine for sentiments or small elements, but a larger custom pad makes it much easier to ink up a full background plate evenly and quickly.
WHY USE BETTERPRESS INKS & PAPER?
You can use standard dye inks, but to get the finest detail and best impressions, I recommend using Spellbinders’ BetterPress ink and BetterPress cardstock. The results really do speak for themselves — crisp, refined, and professional quality!
COLORING WITH THE COORDINATING STENCIL
This set includes 4 etched coloring stencils:
- Stencil 1 – Stems
- Stencil 2 – First layer of petals
- Stencil 3 – Second layer of petals
- Stencil 4 – Flower centers
These stencils let you add soft, blended color to your background or experiment with bolder tones for dramatic florals. The stencils are etched and numbered to keep everything organized.
A CLOSER LOOK AT MY CARDS
- Card 1 (True 5×7): Pressed in dark teal ink, then stenciled with blues and yellows. Sentiment is from the Crafty Hugs set, foiled in black on specialty Glimmer cardstock, and finished with black gems.
- Card 2 (Also 5×7): Pressed in yellow ink on Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. Petals ink-blended in pink, centers in yellow, stems in green. Sentiment foiled in black, accented with opal gems for sparkle.
- Card 3 (Trimmed to A2): Pressed on BetterPress cardstock in soft gray, with delicate pink ink blending on select petals. This subtle look was finished with another foiled sentiment and black gems.
You can see the comparison between different paper types and ink choices — BetterPress ink on BetterPress cardstock gives the cleanest results, but you can absolutely experiment with your favorites.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO STENCIL!
While the stencils make coloring a breeze, you can absolutely use your favorite mediums instead — pencils, watercolors, brush markers, etc. Just be sure to match your ink and paper to your medium for the best results. For example, BetterPress ink is not Copic-friendly but works beautifully for ink blending.
This Daisy Shower BetterPress Plate gives you the perfect canvas for large format cards, and the bundled stencil adds easy, elegant color in just a few steps. You can even create multi-color backgrounds or combine with your stash to stretch your creativity.
Don’t forget to check out the rest of the Yana’s Daisies collection — and stay tuned! I still have two more product spotlights to share, including an embossing folder and a sentiment set.
Thanks so much for crafting with me today! 💛
