Simon Says Stamp | So Thankful For All You Do
When I was making this card I kept thinking to myself – there are no words in the world to help me express my gratitude. The war rages on and people all over the words continue to help. People become more and more united. And that unity is what makes us stronger and braver.
I played with an older stamp set from my stash – Painted Flowers from Simon Says Stamp. I love the painted and abstract-like look of these blooms.

CARD DETAILS
I used one of my abstract backgrounds (watch THIS video to learn how to make a background like this using inks and specialty synthetic cardstock) as a backdrop for the flowers. I think it worked perfectly here. I also added a simple “Thankful” sentiment – I heat embossed it in white on light blue cardstock. I’d usually emboss something like this on black paper, but I wanted to keep the amount of black here to a minimum.
Yesterday we drove one of the vehicles we purchased using your donations to a military station and passed it on to the men fighting for our freedom. I was filled with positive emotions. It is hard to describe and put into words. I felt your support and kindness, I felt your care and prayers; I also felt inspired and motivated, and I felt fierce. When we passed the vehicle to the men in the army I could see a lot of those emotions in their eyes too. You can also see hope. You look into their eyes, you smile, you don’t say much, you nod. And you know that you’ve done well. Thank you for helping us fight for our freedom, for our home, for our land.

When I read your first post about what you were going through – those early days running to the shelter – I literally just cried. I tried to read it to my husband and could not finish. I can’t even imagine how truly horrific it was and still is. I am so proud of you and what you have accomplished in helping your country and the men and women who are fighting in this terrible war. You and your husband stayed there and have made such a difference. You are both so brave; you have set a shining example of what can be done to help where it’s needed. I will never forget your amazing fortitude and bravery.

April 28, 2022I keep asking myself Why is the world letting this happen? We are helping but not enough.If we had provided all that Ukraine wanted in the beginning the war would be over. You and your president are showing us what determination and bravery are really about. My book club is reading Man Without a Face (a biography of Putin). I high recommend it for those who want some insight into this ruthless man.
