WPlus9 | Skinny Santa Window Card

WPlus9 | Funny Santa Window Card

Hello there! A few days ago I shared a funny Santa Claus window card on WPlus9 blog and I wanted to share it here as well.

Truth be told I am never good with window cards, but I do find them fascinating. So I decided to give them one more try and created this hilarious Christmas card with Santa Claus peeking in from the inside. Don’t you just love how funny this skinny guy is?

CARD DETAILS

This is a very simple card and should be easy to replicate if you’d like to do so. The idea is to stamp and die cut several elements that you’d like to have popped up on the project; that includes a chimney, sack with gifts and “Ho Ho Ho” speech bubble.

You can also stamp and die cut Santa Claus and adhere him on the inside of the card or stamp him directly on the inside if you use white cardstock. I used Dove Gray cardstock for my card base as I wanted to add white gel pen dots to look like falling snow so I stamped and die cut my Santa and later adhered him on the inside.

I stamped my images using Simon’s Intense Black ink onto white cardstock and colored using a few Copic makers. To add some flare I added Star Dust stickles glitter glue to the chimney and to the beard of my Santa (I wanted them to sparkle). After my coloring was done I closed the card, adhered my Santa on the inside and foam mounted chimney, sack and speech bubble on the outside making sure not to put any adhesive where the window area was.

To create a sentiment I stamped Merry in Cranberry Crush ink and Sending Christmas Wishes in black. I also added lots of stamped snowflakes and I used Warm Wool color there.

Simon Says Stamp | Stacked Christmas Animals (Dress Up Your Critters For Christmas). Card and video tutorial by Yana Smakula

Simon Says Stamp | Stacked Christmas Animals (Dress Up Your Critters For Christmas). Video

Hi everyone! I love to stretch my stamps and use them all year round (be it Christmas stamps…

  1. Wow! Love how this card turned out, Yana! I adore window cards and I particularly like the narrow focus of the opening to just show the super cute Santa from the front of the card. Most of the window cards I have made have a larger opening (like a circle or an oval) and I always have to be careful not to write within the boundaries of the opening. I’ve messed up more than one of my cards that way – lol!
