Spellbinders | You’re A Life Saver Card with Build A Terrarium Dies

Hello friends! I don’t know about you, but I love cacti! There’s something about them that just fascinates me. So it’s no surprise I’m drawn to them in real life and in crafting products! Today I have a very simple card to share featuring Spellbinders Build A Terrarium die set with cute and tiny cactus images.

CARD DETAILS

I started working on this card by die-cutting parts and pieces for my terrarium. I used colored cardstock for cacti, ground and base of my terrarium and clear acetate for the terrarium lid.

To add some detail to my images I blended various colors of Distress ink onto the cacti and ground (all of these dies add some dry embossed details and that is awesome when you do ink blending over your die cut as they just pop!). I also blended light blue ink for the background of my terrarium.

I used foam adhesive square and glue to assemble everything in place. It has proven a bit difficult to adhere the terrarium lid without the adhesive showing, but I used glue to adhere it in place.

To finish this card I cut a panel of pretty gold stripe paper (unfortunately, I don’t remember where it came from), foam mounted it onto an A2 card base and added my terrarium on top. I also stamped a simple Thanks You’re A Life Saver sentiment from Mama Elephant.

    1. Fun cacti card! How did you glue the a acetate down? Very fun and I currently live in the desert and look to all cactus cards for inspiration!

      1. Hey Liz!
I used glue to adhere it. It was tricky, but it worked in the end. Try something like Multi Matte Medium or a bit of Glossy Accents. The key here is to not use too much glue.
        Hope this helps!
