CARD DETAILS
For this project, I wanted a dark and dramatic Halloween vibe. I cut the books from brushed black cardstock for a moody base, adding lilac and lavender details for the spines and bookmarks. The candles were cut from brushed white, with saffron and carrot flames finished with a glossy accent for extra shine.
Instead of using the “Spellbound” word die, I brought in the Boo and pumpkin elements from Day 4 to tie the designs together. My sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx black ink, perfectly matching the rest of the palette.
Of course, no card is complete without sparkle—so I added Onyx Gems from Spellbinders for that final magical touch.
Why I Love This Set
One of my favorite things about the Craftoween calendar is how manageable the daily projects are. Each die set is small enough to use without hours of cutting and assembly, but still has tons of creative potential. Plus, many of the pieces, like these books, can be used for non-Halloween projects too (think back-to-school or book club cards!).
We’re officially halfway through the 13 Days of Craftoween! I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 8 – can’t wait to see what’s next.
