Simon Says Stamp | Clean Line XL – Love You So

I was very much inspired by the cleanliness and simplicity of the sentiments in Cathy’s Clean Line XL stamp set. Her sentiments are big and bold, but never bulky. I wanted to make a simple Love card and feature one of the sentiments in the center.

LOVE YOU SO – CARD DETAILS

First, I create an abstract background using Simon’s Pawsitively Saturated inks and Spellbinders Specialty Glimmer paper. This paper is synthetic allowing the ink to spread differently on top (compared to regular cardstock).

Here’s a photo I took of another background like this in progress:

It takes a lot longer to dry on this paper, but at the same time, this gives you the ability to move the ink and manipulate it longer. It doesn’t dry instantly.

Next, I stamped “I Love You So” and “XOXO” in Versafine Onyx Black ink. I set the panel aside for a veryyyy long time and allowed the Versafine ink to dry.

Don’t use your heat tool on this paper as it will warp it so badly, you won’t be able to use it. Simply let it dry on its own. Also, do not attempt any heat embossing on this paper, as again, you’ll ruin your panel.

With the ink dry, I cut my panel at an odd angle in two. One part of the panel was adhered directly onto the card base and the other part was foam mounted to add interest. I also added a pre-printed sentiment strip and a black die-cut heart.
