MFT Stamps | Conversation Hearts Valentine’s Day Card. Video

Hello, friends! Oh my, goodness, it’s been a while. Last week I was away on a work trip to Germany – I demoed at the Creativeword show in Frankfurt at the Spellbinders booth, I’ve been home for a few days already, but I’ve come back with a cold so I’ve been taking it slow. I like Wintertime, but I seriously dislike all the sneezing, coughing and runny noses. Hopefully, I’ll be back to my normal self soon.

CARD DETAILS

I started to work on this card by creating a template for my stamping. I did this by die-cutting the 3 hearts using Cute Conversation Die-namics 3 times in a panel of scrap cardstock. I did this to make it easier and faster to die-cut the stamped images out later.

You can definitely stamp the hearts without this template, but I figured this is going to make it a lot easier to die-cut multiple images at once. I’ve placed the template in my mini MISTI stamping tool and used it to align the heart stamps from the Cute Conversation stamp set. My plan was to stamp hearts in 4 different colors of ink, 3 hearts in one color, for a total of 12 hearts for this card.

I used the following colors of ink for my stamping, all from Simon Says Stamp: Fog, Sunshine, Twirling Tutu, and Hollyhock. I used the coordinating die to cut these images out in my Platinum die cutting machine. I placed the hearts on the panel of white cardstock cut to 4 x 5 1/4”. I’ve aligned the panel on my background grid paper and used washi tape to tape it in place to make it easier to have everything centered on the card – the grid lines of the paper pad in the background are very helpful. I started by adhering the center column of hearts. I used foam adhesive squares to foam mount them in place.

I have 4 colors and I’ve positioned the hearts so that the colors are repeating – light pink, light gray, hot pink, yellow, then light pink, light gray, hot pink and yellow again.

I stamped a sentiment for this card, I used one that reads – “If I had 100 hearts, theirs all belong to you”, this sentiment comes from the Smitten by You stamp set. I stamped it in black ink on white cardstock and trimmed to a skinny strip, which I in turn foam mounted onto the card.

Next, I added a few embellishments. For this, I decided to use silver jewels from Pretty Pink Posh and combine them with white Nuvo drops. I scattered a bunch of jewels on the card and used my Crystal Katana tool as well as glue to adhere jewels in place. With that done I added a number of white Nuvo drops and that finished my card. I set it aside for about 6 hours to let the drops dry and now it is ready to be gifted!
