World Card Making Day and Simon Says Stamp! Pattern Stamping the Easy Way

Happy World Cardmaking day, friends! Did you know that WCMD was instituted by Paper Crafts magazine way back in 2006? I’m so glad they created this holiday for us to enjoy and celebrate. I’m excited to join Simon Says Stamp for this celebration. Several of us, each representing a different country (I am representing Ukraine), were tasked with creating a project using the same stamp set, Chunky Christmas. I jumped at the opportunity as I love little challenged like this. I can’t wait to see what the other girls have come up with!

CARD DETAILS

This card was loads of fun to make! I started by stamping the diagonal JOY pattern using Simon’s Intense Black ink, MISTI stamping tool, and white cardstock. I’ve been enjoying making these types of patterns lately – they are bold, colorful, and easy to stamp.

Next, I picked 3 colors of markers to color the words in. I debated doing shading and making the letters dimensional, but in the end, settled upon using a single color for a solid color fill on each of the words/letters. I used B00, R24, and R27. These are such cheerful, festive colors!

I also stamped, colored, and fussy cut 5 holly leaves and berries. I used YG03, YG17, and YG67 for the leaves, and R22, R24, R27 for the berries. A white Sakura pen was used to add a white dot highlight. A foam square was used to pop these up on the card.

Lastly, I embellished this card with Silver Jewels and confetti from Pretty Pink Posh. I do prefer using gold embellishments, but I am all out of gold, so utilizing what I have in my stash – loads of silver!
