CARD DETAILS

I die cut the Vespa, flowers, and balloons from FSJ cardstock, itโ€™s new to me paper and I have to say Iโ€™m enjoying working with it. Iโ€™ll also be sharing another video with 2 cards using Spellbinders Large Die of the Month in a few days and I also used the FSJ cardstock for those.

The Vespa die comes with every little bit to create a scooter. There are separate pieces for the wheels, lights, seat, and bumpers. This allows you to die cut pieces from various colors of cardstock or patterned paper and customize your die cut any way you like.

To create that background I dry embossed a piece of cream cardstock using I Heart Embossing Folder from FSJ. The sentiment, thank you, also comes from FSJ, itโ€™s from the Everyday Script stamp set and I stamped in black Versa Fine ink. Thereโ€™s a coordinating die available and so I used mine to cut this sentiment out. I wanted it to look like it was stamped on the background, but because the background was dry embossed I stamped and die cut sentiment from identical color cardstock to foam mount over the dry embossing.

I also foam mounted the Vespa onto the card and to dress it up I added a bunch of tiny adorable flowers and leaves cut using the Spellbinders May 2019 Large Die of the Month. I shaped each flower using the largest Stylus attachment tip and my Tool ‘n One using the Piercing side of my Spellbinders cutting mat.

I also die cut a bunch of balloons for the card and attached white floss to “tie” them to the scooter.

    1. What an awesome card!! I love the beautiful flowers, the balloons, lovely heart background and of course the highlight Vespa ๐Ÿ™‚ Perfect fun creation! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Always look forward to seeing you use Spellbinder dies! What a great, fun and colorful card!! And even though you have a lot on it it doesn’t look busy. How’d you do that??!!!!!!!! Sounds like your mother is feeling much better and I’m happy to hear that. So good to have you back. Wish I could sit down with you over a cup of tea and hear about your trip to China. I love hearing about places I haven’t been to. Hope you have a chance to use the watercolor paper you picked up in Frankfort and that you like it. Always fun to try something different. Thanks for the video, Yana! Be well and — again — welcome back.

      1. thank you, Debbie ๐Ÿ™‚ A trip to China was SOMETHING! It’s one thing going there as a tourist (we went on vacation to China back in 2010) and another thing to go there on a work trip. Plus being blonde doesn’t help as everyone is staring at the blond hair (nobody is blond in China, there’s even no blonde hair dye in the stores. The food is another story. Either plain rice or everything covered in soya sauce and… drumroll – eggs boiled in tea! Luckily we had access to western cuisine at the hotel we were staying at. I’m not a big fan of Chinese food. We were in Shenzhen and it’s a very big industrial city, lots of factories, hence a ton of pollution. My throat still hurts a bit from all of that dirty air. It was quite an adventure ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. Eggs boiled in TEA???? Huh?!!! Your description of being blonde haired in China made me laugh!! I could imagine you walking down the street in Shenzhen turning people’s heads!! Sounds like the trip was quite a challenge … and then it got extended. I’ve heard about the TON of pollution there — air and noise. Just between the pollution and the food I don’t think I would do well there at all. Kudos to you for sticking it out. I first came out to AZ on vacation years before I decided to move here and really liked it. It’s very different being a resident here. If I had to make the same decision over again, I would not move here. As you said, it’s very different visiting for a short time and staying for an extended time. Now that I’m here, however, for better or worse it’s home. Thanks for sharing with me.
