Spellbinders | April-May’25 Club-a-Long. April Stencil of the Month Cards. Video

Hello, crafty friends! Yana Smakula here, and I am thrilled to share with you some of my latest projects featuring Spellbinders’ April 2025 Stencil of the Month — the Air Mail stencil. If you’ve been following along, you may have seen my segment in the Spellbinders’ Club Along event, where I dove into creating fun and easy cards with this fabulous stencil. I simply couldn’t stop blending and crafting, so today I’m going to walk you through some of my favorite ways to use this stencil, along with some of the other amazing club products from this month.

The Air Mail stencil is a beautiful five-piece layering stencil that brings the vintage charm of airmail stripes and playful envelopes right to your cards. I loved it the moment I saw it, and even though I didn’t have a chance to create with it in April, the beauty of the Club Along event is that you can go back and enjoy the prior month’s products! It’s perfect for those of us who are a little behind on our crafty time (I know I’m not alone here!).

CARD #1 – AIRMAIL MAILBOX

For my first project, I wanted to showcase the classic red and blue Air Mail stripes. I used Hero Arts inks for the ink blending — Crimson for the red and Nautical for the blue — applying them generously with Spellbinders’ large fluffy blending brushes. These brushes make blending quick and easy, and they help me get a smooth application with little effort.

Once the ink blending was done, I turned to the April Large Die of the Month — the beautiful mailbox die — to assemble a mailbox. I used a mix of Poppy and Fog cardstock to create this die-cut mailbox, and tucked a few dimensional envelopes inside.

To finish off this card, I added a sentiment from the April’25 Glimmer Kit of the Month. It was foiled in Opaque White foil.

CARD #2 – THINKING OF YOU

The Air Mail stencil set also includes pieces to create cute envelopes. I had a blast blending these with shades of blue — Indigo, Paradise, and Periwinkle — for a stunning ombre effect. I love how the envelopes start to come together as you layer the stencils, adding so much personality to the background. For a little extra detail, you could even add shading around the envelope flaps for more depth.

I added die-cut envelopes using the Large Die of the Month for April (cut from Fog, White, and Cosmic Sky) and a sentiment from my Crafty Hugs set (I have a video about this set HERE), paired with an additional message from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month for April.

CARD #3 – SENDING LOVE & HUGS

Here’s another card featuring the traditional red& blue color combo. For this one, I paired it with the BetterPress of the Month for April 2025 (foiled in Matte Silver foil on BetterPress cardstock) and Perfect Touch Rectangles, along with a smaller envelope die from the Small Die of the Month set.

I added ink blending using Crimson ink to a portion of the foiled panel to bring in some color. The sentiment comes from my Crafty Hugs set.

CARD #4 – JUST A NOTE

One of the things I absolutely love about this stencil is how versatile it is when it comes to color choices. You don’t have to stick to the classic red and blue! For a more playful look, I created a card with pink and yellow Air Mail stripes.

These colors gave my card a fresh, fun vibe. I added white enamel dots in place of the envelope seals.

CARD #5 – HELLO

In total, I ended up with five unique cards, each showcasing different aspects of the Air Mail stencil. Here’s a look at the final card:
