Hello, hello, crafty friends — welcome back! We’re diving into Day 9 of the 13 Days of Craftoween Advent Calendar from Spellbinders, and I have to say… this one is adorable.

CARD DETAILS
When I saw the spider illustration on the front of today’s booklet, I braced myself — spiders aren’t my favorite (you might remember the creepy-cool one from Day 5). But happily, it wasn’t a spider at all! Instead, Day 9 revealed the cutest one-eyed monster — and even the pumpkin in the set has just one eye. Adorable!
This little guy comes with fun accessories, including a pair of glasses. (Is it still “glasses” if there’s only one lens? 🤔). I couldn’t resist giving my monster trendy yellow glasses. I also borrowed the witch hat from Day 2’s set and a couple of bats from Day 8’s spooky drink design to complete the scene.
For the sentiment, I pulled “Just Here for the Boos” from my Happy Hour collection, foiled in Matte Black on Brushed White cardstock.
To ground my monster, I added shadows with C3 and C5 Copic markers, and finished everything off with my go-to Onyx Gems from Spellbinders. (Fingers crossed I have enough gems to last through Day 13!)
These daily die sets are the perfect size for quick crafting. In under an hour, I can cut, assemble, and decorate a complete card. It’s been a joy to get back into Halloween crafting — it’s festive, pressure-free, and allows me to experiment with color and design.
