Hello, crafty friends! Welcome back for another Yippee for Yana video! Today I’m sharing one of my favorite “small but mighty” holiday projects: handmade gift tags. Because let’s be honest – sometimes the tag steals the show. These tags are made with the Wrapped With Love set, and while they’re not the fastest tags on the planet, they’re absolutely worth it for the people closest to you – the ones who truly appreciate a handmade touch.

In my video, I show how to make one tag from start to finish, then I mass-produce six more using the exact same steps. If you’re wrapping a stack of gifts, this is a great “assembly line” project you can do while watching a movie (or pretending you’re watching a movie because you’re actually just staring lovingly at embossing powder).
TAG DETAILS
The focal point of this tag is a beautiful door image – and the coordinating dies are so clever. Not only do they cut out the door shape, but they also add details that make the door feel dimensional (and yes… it can even open if you want it to!).
I went for a classic holiday look:
- Red door + white embossing
- Blue-green tag base
- Gold sentiments and “To/From” details
- Wreath + bow accents popped up for dimension
The result feels more like a tiny card than a basic tag – which is exactly the vibe I was going for.
For the tag base, I die cut the main tag shape from a gorgeous blue-green cardstock, then blended a darker ink along the bottom to ground the design and help the door pop.
I also scored the top of the white “To/From” panel so it opens easily—just a simple detail that makes the whole tag feel more interactive and special.
I originally used an iridescent cord, but when I started wrapping gifts in kraft paper, I switched to red-and-white baker’s twine—it just feels so classic and festive.
A Little Note on “Perfect” (Or Not)
When I die cut heat-embossed images, sometimes a tiny bit of embossing can flake or wear off in spots. It happened here – and at first I thought about redoing the doors… but honestly? It gave them a slightly vintage, worn-in look. Like a beloved front door that’s seen many Christmases.
So I kept them. Because crafting is supposed to be joyful, not a perfection contest.

Even if your holiday crafting is already done, this is one of those sets that’s absolutely worth having in your stash. It’s perfect for tags, cards, little door-opening surprises… all the fun things.
