Simon Says Stamp | Mother’s Day Card. Creative cardmaking process. Video. Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share a bit about my creative cardmaking process from coming up with an idea, picking out products, deciding on a color scheme and actually creating my card. I hope you’ll find this useful!
I am making a card for an upcoming Mother’s Day for my Mom using several products from the Fluttering By release by Simon Says stamp.

VIDEO TUTORIAL
As always, I filmed a video tutorial showing how to create this project from start to finish. I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it. Watch it below or on my Youtube channel.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by stamping a colorful background using a stripe image from the Make Your Mark stamp set in Duckling, Green Apple and Hollyhock inks from Simon.
Next, I die-cut the word Mom out of white cardstock and I used my mini MISTI tool to stamp the corresponding image. I used pigment inks from Avery Elle for a soft ombre look and I went with Pixie and Raspberry colors.
I needed to stamp flowers so I used my Simon’s Intense Black ink and my mini MISTI again and I stamped 4 flowers from the Mom Flowers stamp set. I went with Copic markers and I picked my usual go to color combo for pinks – RV14, RV13 and RV11. I cut these out with the help of coordinating dies.
I arranged everything on my background and stamped additional sentiments “Happy Mother’s Day” and “All that I am is because of you” in black ink. Next, I used the stencil and added dry embossed detail using my die cutting machine. I foam mounted the large Mom die cut as well as the flowers and embellished this card using several Butterfly Kisses sequins.

April 14, 2018Gorgeous! I envy how quickly you were able to pull a plan together!!! I think it helps when you have a set group of supplies for an “assignment” or project. I know its easy to get overwhelmed with stamp/die/stencil options, then there are color choices like mediums, inks, and papers. Then decisions about techniques or extra products like pastes, glitters, etc. Its a wonder we get any decisions made… or don’t make 20 cards for each stamp set to try all the options out! I spend more time debating my choices than actually crafting 😉 Tfs your process; would love to hear this more often!
