Hello, crafty friends! Welcome back for another Yippee for Yana video! Today I’m sharing a clean and simple card that proves you don’t need a lot of supplies to create something truly beautiful. This card design is soft, elegant, and easy to recreate – and it’s all built around the brand new Wildflower Cuttings stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.
If you don’t have this exact set, no worries, look through your stash for something similar. The technique is flexible and works well with many types of botanical stamps!

CARD DETAILS
Start by prepping your cardstock with an anti-static powder tool – I used Simon Says Stamp Honey cardstock, which is quickly becoming a favorite in my craft room.
Stamp the floral image with clear embossing ink, then cover with white embossing powder and heat set.
You can use this same technique with other embossing powder colors like gold, silver, or clear depending on your cardstock color.
I love using the same color for the card base and stamped image; it gives such a soft, tone-on-tone effect. For an A2 card, emboss your image four times to fill the background.
Tip: If your cardstock warps from embossing (mine always does!), try die cutting your images instead and arranging them on your base.
To prevent delicate die-cuts from sagging, I cut a second layer from plain cardstock and adhered it to the back of each embossed floral. Then, I added foam adhesive squares to give everything dimension when building the layout.
I used the sentiment “Thinking of you today and always,” stamped in the bottom right corner using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. The stamp set includes several lovely messages, so you can choose the one that best fits your occasion.
Adhere your florals to the background, trimming any excess that extends beyond the card edges. I reused some of the trimmed pieces to fill in small gaps, this gives the background a nice, full look without using extra supplies.
For the finishing touch, I added white dots using a Gelly Roll pen to add some playful texture. Then I embellished the background with Mandarin Positively Dazzling Gems – the little red gems look like tiny berries or flowers and pop beautifully against the warm honey background.
This is one of those projects that really reinforces my love for clean design. A simple stamp set, a favorite cardstock color, a bit of embossing, and a few thoughtful embellishments can go a long way.
I hope this inspires you to shop your stash and give tone-on-tone stamping a try! Whether you’re recreating this look exactly or putting your own twist on it, I’d love to see what you come up with.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
