Simon Says Stamp | Light Up The Town Card + Video. Blog Hop & Giveaway (now closed)
Hello there and welcome! Thank you so much for stopping by today to help celebrate Simon Says Stamp Special Holiday Release Week (more about new products and blog hop below). I am very excited to share a simple Light Up The Town card and video today.
I am always fascinated by various house and building stamp images so naturally I was most drawn to the Christmas Town stamp set from the Advent Plus release. If you’ve been following me for some time you might have noticed I have a thing for houses (if not, check this post and this one, oh and this one too). I also incorporated a little light up element – Chibitronics Lights from Simon’s December Card Kit. These lights are perfect to adding an unexpected WOW element to any project!

VIDEO TUTORIAL
I’ve filmed a video tutorial where I am sharing everything in detail. You can watch it below or on my Youtube channel.
Like this video? Please give it a big thumbs up and share with a crafty friend! Drop me a comment too, I love hearing from you!
CARD DETAILS
I started by heat embossing a sentiment from the mini Advent Sentiment stamp set in Antique Gold embossing powder onto a panel of Audrey Blue cardstock. I wanted to have various houses placed around the sentiment, so I needed to start by stamping the sentiment first and I went with Christmas Time Is Here.
Once I had the placement of the sentiment figured out I stamped houses around it. I used my MISTI stamping tool and double stamped images to have perfect ink coverage (you really don’t need to do this, this has become an impulse for me). I also blended Audrey Blue ink around the edges of my heat embossed panel to darken the edges and keep the center lighter.
Lastly, I added a lot of white gel pen details to mimic snow. I love this get pen – I haven’t had a single problem with it and it always gives the best opaque white coverage.

November 19, 2016Love your card, Yana! The gold embossing really pops against the blue background, and I think the inking around the edges adds a nice, almost framed, appearance. I think my favorite Simon product from this past week’s releases is the stamp set with the traditional Santa stamp. (The name escapes me at the moment!) Thanks so much for sharing your artistry! 🙂 ~ Andrea
