Hi friends! Today I’m sharing three light-hearted cards made just for fun with the Breakfast Buddies stamp set and coordinating dies (designed by Kristina Werner for Concord & 9th) — a set that’s equal parts cute and hilarious. The images layer beautifully, the sentiments are wonderfully punny, and the whole vibe works for so many people and occasions.

CARD 1 — EGG-CEPTIONAL BACKGROUND (WITH BACON!)
I wanted the egg whites to stay truly white.
Here’s the quick method:
- Make a “guide egg.”
Stamp all layers once (including the base), die-cut it, and save the negative (the leftover paper with the egg-shaped hole). This becomes your stamping jig. - Stamp production-style.
Pop white panels into the MISTI, nest the die back into the saved negative, and stamp only the yolk (bright yellow) and shadow details (light gray). I made 8 eggs to fill an A2 panel.
- Add personality. Stamp the faces, arms, and legs inside the egg area (around the yolk) so the coordinating die still fits and the limbs won’t disappear on a dark background.
- Die-cut & reinforce. I like to glue an extra blank die-cut behind each piece for a sturdier, non-saggy embellishment.
- Build the panel.
- Base: Spellbinders Brushed Black (A2 — 4¼” × 5½”).
- Arrange the eggs and a few bacon strips (inked with Guava & Punch), then adhere with foam.
- Stamp the sentiment “You are egg-ceptional.”
- Trim & tuck. Use scissors to trim overhanging bits and glue tiny off-cuts into gaps (glue works better than foam for small pieces).
- Finish. Add Onyx Gems and a white insert inside the card base (since it’s black).
CARD 2 — PANCAKES, COFFEE, AND AN EGG
This one is a cozy cluster: pancakes + latte mug + fried egg.
Inks & Tips:
- Pancakes: Cookie, Cocoa, Mocha; butter: Butter + a touch of Honey.
- Coffee mug (4 layers): Sunbeam, Honey, Clay, Cappuccino. For the coffee liquid, I chose Cappuccino for a deeper look (my first try with Latte was too light).
- Pro tip: prime solid stamps with a pencil eraser before first use for smoother, more even coverage.
- Background: Stamp subtle splatter textures in clear watermark ink on Spellbinders Breeze cardstock for a tone-on-tone effect. Foam-mount the images on top. Easy & satisfying!
CARD 3 — BERRY SPECIAL
Clean and simple – lots of white space and a sweet pop of color.
- Blueberries: Morning, Dusk, Night
- Strawberry: Punch, Cabernet, Sangria + Blush highlight; green ink for the leafy top
- Sentiment: “You’re berry special to me.”
- Foam-mount a small cluster of six blueberries and three strawberries on a white base.
