Pinkfresh Studio | More Simple Cardmaking. Winter Hugs Card. Video
Hello, hello and welcome back to my blog! I’m still pretty much on a roll in terms of making very simple cards (check out this and this post if you are new to my blog), so what’s what we’ll be doing in this post & video.
While this card is not quite as simplistic as some of the previous projects I posted (and some that I will post soon), it still is pretty simple to make and packs a punch!

CARD DETAILS
The stamp set I’m playing with today is Happy Hugs from Pinkfresh Studio from their all-new October 2018 release. Number one reason why I picked this stamp set to play with is that beautiful solid sky stamp that outlines the bears. This stamp set is designed in a very clever way, the sky is cut out so that you can add the bears image onto it without having to fuss around with masking. I love that – anything that makes cardmaking a simple and more enjoyable task is always a win in my book.
Whenever I play with solid stamps such as that sky I love to use my ombre ink pads and for today’s sky I reached for my favorite ink pad for a winter night sky- Pool to Navy Ombre.
I inked up my stamp with the darkest blue at the top and lightest blue at the bottom of my sky. Next, I stamped the bear outline image and it fits right into the sky outline – it’s super easy to align and all you have to do is just ink it up with black ink and stamp.
I also stamped the word “Hugs” in black ink, I wanted my sentiment to say “Sending you warm wishes and snuggly Hugs”. The first part of the sentiment was heat embossed in white on red cardstock and Hugs is stamped in black.
Once my stamping was done I used Copic markers to do my coloring: W5, W3 and W1 and R39, R27, R24, R22 markers. I cut my colored panel out using my paper trimmer – I wanted to pop it up on a simple background. To create a background for this card I used a scoring technique, I cut a panel of white cardstock to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″, scored it every 1/2″ creating horizontal planks for my cards. Next, I adhered the background panel onto an A2 white side folding card base and foam mounted my colored panel in place.
Next, I used my Tonic Studios Aqua Shimmer Pen and coated the entire sky sections with beautiful shimmer. I also used nuvo drops in Gloss White and added dimensional dots over the white circles and Hero Arts Lacquer Pen to coat the heart in the sky.
