Spellbinders | Alphabet Dies Custom Valentine’s Day Card

Recently I shared several custom sentiment Birthday cards HERE. I mentioned I was worried I wouldn’t be able to adhere the die-cut letters straight onto the card, so I added them wonky. While editing that video, another card idea popped into my mind. I’m sharing that card today. Here I did my best to adhere the letters straight onto the card, but if you look closely, you’ll notice the word “Heart” crawls upward toward the end.

CARD DETAILS

You Make My Heart Sing – that’s my custom sentiment for this card. I wanted to create this custom sentiment so I die-cut everything, but the letters for the “Heart” from white cardstock. The “Heart” was cut from gold glitter paper. I also cut a fun foam letter for each to use instead of foam adhesive for this card.

I dry embossed the background for this card using a new embossing folder from Spellbinders, Loops, on Hero Arts Peony cardstock. To add interest to the card, I trimmed the background to 5 1/4″ and foam mounted it onto an A2 white card base leaving a small white strip at the bottom.

I wanted to add some minimal embellishments to the letters, so I used the Open House Valentines dies to cut a heart pierced with an arrow and a tiny envelope. I have so many more ideas for these alphabet dies (and so little time).
