Can You Make 5 Different Cards With One Die Set? Video

Hi everyone! Today, I’m using just one die set to make five cards. It’s all about stretching your supplies and discovering the various ways you can use one product to create a range of designs. I love doing this because it sparks my creativity and is a fantastic way to experiment in the craft room.

The star of today’s card-making session is the Amalfi Breeze Die Set from Spellbinders, part of the beautiful La Dolce Vita collection. This set is a fantastic way to add a fun, vacation vibe to your cards. If you were part of the Spellbinders Weekender Virtual Retreat, you might recognize the La Dolce Vita theme. This die set, however, wasn’t part of the box but is just as stunning!

CARD 1: A RELAXING POOLSIDE VIBE

For my first card, I went with a relaxed poolside theme. I used Breeze cardstock for the background, which gave it that refreshing, pool-like feel. The girl is dressed in a white and black striped swimsuit, topped with a cute yellow hat. I created a yellow and white striped beach towel using the fringe die and added some tropical foliage from a past Spellbinders club kit.

The sentiment “Happy Birthday, Sending Sunshine Just for You” adds the perfect touch to this card, and some enamel dots finish off the design with a bit of movement.

CARD 2: POOLSIDE FUN WITH A TWIST

For my second card, I made a little pool scene where the girl is relaxing. I used a combination of white and teal cardstock to create a pool area. The pool itself is made using the Perfect Touch Recyangles die set. To add texture to the pool water, I used an embossing folder to create waves – this gave the card some nice dimension.

I also added tropical foliage from the same kit as the first card, and I decided to play around with the color scheme. My girl now has red hair and a yellow hat, and I even gave her some oranges and lemons for a fun touch!

CARD 3: INTERACTIVE FLOATING FUN

Next up is an interactive card! I wanted to make the girl float on a pool floatie that spins. To achieve this, I created a spinning mechanism using foam squares and circle dies. The girl, now floating in the pool, can spin around – it’s simple but so fun!

The sentiment here reads “Ciao Bella! Hope This Day Treats You Well,” which perfectly captures the carefree, vacation spirit of the card.

CARD 4: COLOR-BLOCKED SIMPLICITY

This card features a more minimalist design, using a color-blocked background in yellow and pink. I created a DIY hat with orange cardstock and added some cute leaves to embellish it.

The sentiment “Thank You, Sending Warm Thoughts Your Way” ties everything together. It’s a simple yet striking card with a lot of charm.

CARD 5: POOLSIDE RELAXATION, ONCE AGAIN

For my final card, I used a similar technique to the second card, but this time with a twist. I used the same embossing folder to create a wave effect for the pool.

The girl is sporting a red swimsuit and a matching umbrella. I love how this card turned out – it’s simple yet vibrant and perfect for summer.

PRO TIPS FOR EXTRA FUN

While the Amalfi Breeze Die Set is the star of the show, I also recommend checking out your stash for extra embellishments that can complement this die. I thought about adding some seashells, beach bags, or even flip flops.
