If your craft room has a “mystery drawer” (you know the one), this post is for you.
Today I’m taking a closer look at a brand new storage solution from Spellbinders – the Storage Box – and sharing how I’m using it to organize some of the tiniest (and most chaotic) supplies in my stash. Because let’s be honest… sequins have a mind of their own.

A New Take on Craft Storage
At first glance, this new Spellbinders Storage Box might look familiar. It’s similar to their previously released storage compartment box – but there are some key differences that make this one especially useful.
First, the size. This new box is slightly larger, which gives you more room to work with without taking up too much extra space. It’s still compact, lightweight, and perfect if you travel to events or crafting demos as I do.
And yes – lightweight matters when your suitcase is already full of crafty goodness.
Customizable vs. Fixed Compartments
One of the biggest differences between the two storage options is flexibility.
The original compartment box allows you to remove some of the dividers, so you can customize the space. I love using mine for wax seal supplies – beads, seals, even tools like handles and pens. Being able to adjust the compartments makes it super versatile.
This new storage box, however, has fixed compartments. You can’t reconfigure it – but that’s actually a good thing depending on what you’re storing.
Why This Box Is Perfect for Sequins
Here’s where this storage box really shines. The lid is designed with grooves that align with the compartments, helping keep everything in place. That means tiny embellishments like sequins, beads, and other small bits are far less likely to migrate from one section to another.
I took a bunch of sequins from my stash (some in baggies, some… floating freely like rebels) and organized them into this box. Game changer.
Now I can:
- See all my colors at a glance
- Quickly pick what I need
- Actually use my sequins instead of forgetting they exist
And as a bonus, my sequin drawer is no longer a disaster zone. We love a happy ending.
A Few Real-Life Notes
Nothing is completely foolproof (this is crafting, after all). If you overfill compartments or give the box a serious shake during travel, you might get a little mixing. Static can also cause some sequins to cling to the lid. And of course… don’t open it upside down unless you’re feeling adventurous.
I love this storage solution. It’s simple, practical, and makes organizing small embellishments so much easier. Plus, anything that helps me actually use my supplies instead of hoarding them? That’s a win. If you’ve been looking for a better way to organize sequins, beads, or other tiny craft supplies, this is definitely worth checking out.
