Simon Says Stamp | For Someone Special. Blending Free Coloring with Alcohol Markers.

Ever since I published THIS video I’ve been exploring blending-free coloring with my alcohol markers further and further. I went through my stash looking for alcohol markers with bullet nibs and found Nuvo Markers from Tonic, I have a decent size collection of those, and 2 sets of Artist Markers from Altenew. The card I’m sharing today was colored using a combination of Nuvo & Altenew markers.

CARD DETAILS

I started making this card by stamping a pattern. I used images from Simon’s More Spring Flowers and Even More Spring Flowers. I stamped 3 floral clusters, each consisting of 2 flowers and several leaves. I used Simon’s Intense Black ink for stamping, Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock, and masking paper to make this pattern.

I didn’t write down the exact marker colors I used (so sorry!) as I wasn’t entirely sure this pattern/coloring would work. But it did and very happy with the way it turned out. I listed approximate markers/sets below. Watch THIS video to learn this coloring technique.

Having colored the background I foiled a beautiful frame using Framed Details glimmer plate from Spellbinders and Laurie Willison. I was all out of shiny gold foil, so I used Matte Gold instead and I have to say – I quite LOVE it!

I also foiled a sentiment that reads “For Someone Special” using leftover shiny gold foil, cut it out using a coordinating die and foam mounted on my card. Lastly, I embellished this card with gold jewels and sequins.
