Hello and welcome back for another Yippee For Yana video! Today, I’m excited to share how to create a beautiful card using a limited color palette. Sometimes, less really is more, and you don’t need a ton of colors to make a stunning design. Let’s dive into the process!

CARD DETAILS
For this card, I challenged myself to stick with just pinks, oranges, and a touch of green. By using fewer colors, I was able to create a lively, cohesive design that still feels bright and fun. I encourage you to try it too!
I used the Little Things stamp set from Simon Says Stamp with a cute row of houses. After stamping with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, I added a few trees from the same set to complete the scene.
I used just two shades per house (light and dark pink or orange), keeping the coloring simple and clean. I added green markers for the trees and bushes to tie the scene together. Here’s a list of OLO markers I used:
- RV01, RV02, RV04, OR2.2, OR2.3, O2.2, O2.4, YG2.1, YG2.3, YG2.5, B0.3
For the backdrop, I used Sea Glass cardstock and stamped the sentiment “I love spending time with you.” I popped up the houses and trees with foam tape for dimension and added sequins for a touch of sparkle.
WHY TRY A LIMITED COLOR PALETTE?
Using fewer colors makes the design process easier while still achieving a striking look. It’s perfect for when you want to simplify or work with limited supplies. Give it a try — you’ll be surprised at how beautiful it can turn out!
