Pretty Pink Posh | Rows of Candles Birthday Card

Hello, friends! Since I seem to never have any spare Birthday cards on hand I stamped a quick one the other day using products from Pretty Pink Posh. I love the new Birthday Borders stamp set – such a fun and versatile set for quick and easy Birthday cards.

CARD DETAILS

I used my MISTI stamping tool to stamp this card. I stamped the border 3 times moving it to the left and right each time to have a slightly different candle placement. I used my Intense Black ink from Simon for the stamping as I knew I’d be coloring these with Copic markers.

I wanted to use fun and cheerful colors, so I picked the following marker colors to color the candles:

• Y17, Y08 to color flame
• YG01, YG03
• RV10, RV34
• BG11, BG45

The coloring took quite a bit of time, but I enjoyed the process. Next, I used a white Sakura pen and colored polka dot as well as the stripes on the candles white. This is far easier than trying not to color over those areas when coloring candles, I just color over them and later use a white pen to whiten the areas.

I also added some white pen highlights to the solid candles and the flames. Next, I trimmed the panel to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and cut a mirror cardstock mat just 1/8″ larger. I made an A2 white top folding card base and foam mounted my panel in place.

To create a sentiment I white heat embossed “Happy Birthday” from the Party Friends stamp set on pink cardstock, trimmed it to a skinny strip and foam mounted onto the card adding a mirror card backing. Finally, I embellished this card using the Valentine Sequin mix.

I already have a recipient in mind for this card – just need to sign it and it will be ready to be gifted.
