Hero Arts | You Rule Card with Color Layering Lion & July MMH Preview
Just in case you didn’t you – You Rule! I’ve been wanting to share this card for a few weeks, but never seemed to have the time to finish writing my blog post up until now.

The Color Layering Lion stamp set I used to create this card came out last month as an add-on to June 2017 kit; while the kit sold out way too fast, the add-ons are usually available for a long time so even if you didn’t get a chance to order the kit you can still get this set if you like it; I think it’s a good one for masculine and encouragement cards.
CARD DETAILS
I started working on this project by stamping the lion first. I used Soft Vanilla, Butter Bar, Caramel and Cup of Joe ink colors for my stamping. The image was rather easy to align and I didn’t have any troubles stamping it.
If you ever have trouble aligning color layering images like this one or similar – try stamping the top most darkest layer first. I always find that to be helpful.
To create a background for this card I heat embossed Tribal Stripes background in white embossing powder onto kraft cardstock, trimmed it to 4 x 5 1/4″ and foam mounted onto an A2 top folding card base. Next, I die-cut the stamped lion and foam mounted it onto the card.
I also stamped a little bow, cut it out and adhered onto the card. I used Soft Brown and Cup Of Joe colors for stamping.
Lastly, I added “You Rule” white heat embossed sentiment and embellished my card using several black enamel dots from my stash.
