Spellbinders | Clean & Simple Flower Cards with Inlay Die Cutting
Hello friends! Hope Summer is treating you well and you are enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. I myself am missing the pool and the rest area we had access to while we were in Phoenix. And while right now its hot as hell over in Arizona and had I been there I probably would not be spending any time by the pool to avoid sun burn, I still miss it tremendously! Anyhow, today I have a few cards to share featuring small Die D-Lites flower dies from Spellbinders and inlay die cutting technique.

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by die-cutting flowers out of gold mirror, pink, yellow and green cardstock. I used Sketched Blooms die set for this project. Once I had all of my parts and pieces cut I used gold outline and inlayed it with colored cardstock pieces to create multi-colored flowers. Something similar to what I shared in this video HERE.
I created an A2 white top folding card base, covered it with patterned paper (unfortunately I don’t remember where it came from), foam mounted my flowers on top and added a simple “Congratulations” sentiment stamped in black. Super simple and easy to make card.
I also used white Nuvo Drops and create a white flower center for my flower in the middle.
For my next card I used a similar approach, but I also added a bit of dimension for a slightly different look. Here, instead of popping up the entire die cut with foam adhesive squares I only added a fun foam layer to the outline die cut. I again cut it out of gold cardstock and also out of sticky fun foam. I adhered both together and adhered them onto the card creating a dimensional outline.
Next, I die cut same images again out of yellow, pink and green cardstock and inlayed negative die cut pieces into the openings. You can see a cool dimension I was able to achieve this way here:
I added a simple Stay Awesome sentiment and adhered everything onto a patterned paper panel featuring diagonal stripes in blue (comes from Echo Park Summer Party 6×6 Paper Pad). You can easily stamp a background like using a background cling stamp and some blue ink.
