Hello, friends! Today I’m resharing a project that originally aired during the Spellbinders Club Along live event (August/September 2025). My segment featured the August Stitching Die of the Month – and let me tell you, this one is the cutest little paper boat you’ll ever cut from cardstock.
This die is clever: you can stitch it if you’re in the mood for needle + thread, or skip the stitching and go bold with paper and color. I’ve seen so many beautiful stitched versions already, so I decided to sail in a different direction – color blocking!

CARD DETAILS
The die has six parts, so I grabbed six shades of blue cardstock – Indigo, Cosmic Sky, Celestial, Cascade, Windy, and Breeze and cut all the pieces. That gave me enough bits to mix and match into multiple boats.
I even made a stitched sample too, with gray + white cardstock and some DMC thread, to show you the versatility. Both ways? Totally adorable.
For my main project, I paired the boat with a hot pink + sunny yellow color-blocked background. Foam adhesive added dimension, so the little folded edges popped off the card. And because I can’t resist, I sprinkled in some hearts and a perfectly fitting sentiment: “Folded With Love.” (Seriously, how perfect is that?).
Since I had extra die-cut pieces, I made a whole fleet of boats! For variety, I switched up the backgrounds – embossed brushed white panels for a softer, elegant look (using the Molded Frame embossing folder from my Yana’s Daisy collection). Whether you go bold and bright or subtle and textured, this little boat looks fabulous sailing on any background.
That’s my take on the August 2025 Stitching Die of the Month. Whether you stitch or skip, this set is playful, versatile, and honestly just fun to create with.
