Yep. A colorful paper hug. I recently replaced some of my favorite ink pad colors with fresh new ink pads, and oh my! What a difference it makes. You don’t realize the ink pad is no longer well-inked, unless you compare it to a brand new, just opened ink pad filled with ink. I’ve had some of my favorite ink pads for well over 8 years, and with no re-inkers and often use, no wonder they were dry.

CARD IDEA

I recently re-discovered stencils. But not for dry embossing or using with various pastes and mousses. I re-discovered stencils for their intended use – ink blending. It is like I was living under a rock! You can create so many fun backgrounds using stencils. And the simpler the stencil shape, the better, as that gives you more options. It lets your imagination run wild.

I came across this image online and it inspired me. All these gorgeous colors!

I used Simon’s Slimline Scene Builder stencil and ink blended the background for my card. It was so fun! The combination of yellow, peach and pink is very inspiring, but also calm.

This card was also influenced by a recent one by Laura Bassen. I love Laura’s work. I ink blended the background, trimmed it to 3 3/4″ x 5″, and foam mounted to A2 Fog card base. Next, I die-cut a sentiment strip, popped that up with more foam adhesive, and added some clear droplets and Sparkling Clear sequins to dress it up.
