Hello, crafty friends! Welcome back for another Yippee for Yana video! Today I have a clean and colorful holiday card that looks detailed and layered, but it’s actually super quick to make thanks to the Simon Says Stamp Festive Bough Pattern Layering Stencils. CARD DETAILS
I started with a piece of Hammermill cardstock cut to A2 size and secured it to my Positively Sticky Mat. My little trick for stress-free alignment? I build a tiny “corner” with low-tack tape so each stencil layer just drops perfectly into place. Easy peasy.

Layer 1 (greenery): Pearfection ink with a touch of Pine for depth (smaller blending brush = instant shading magic).

Layer 2 (bows): Cranberry for the base, Brick for shading, smoothed with a large blending brush.

Layer 4: Back to Cranberry for that cohesive, festive finish.
Before trimming the panel, I added just a whisper of texture – stamped the White Christmas Text Background over the whole piece in Fawn ink. It’s barely there, but it makes the background feel more polished and interesting.
After trimming to 3 ¾” x 5″, I softly inked the edges with Fawn to help frame everything and pull the eye toward the center.
The sentiment is from the CZ Making Spirits Bright set – I heat embossed Merry & Bright in gold on red cardstock, blended Cranberry and Brick around the edges for depth, then die cut it with the coordinating die. For extra sturdiness, I layered it onto another die cut before foam mounting.
And of course – sequins! A sprinkle of Starbright Embellishment Mix adds the perfect amount of sparkle (because holiday cards without sparkle? Not happening!).
