Simon Says Stamp | Quick pre-printed watercolor card with Derwent Inktense Pencils.

Hello there! A few days ago one average afternoon turned into a Christmas-like morning for me – my hubby brought me a few packages with new goodies to play with (he picked them up at the post office). And let me tell you – nothing is better than opening a package with very anticipated stamps and dies from Simon!

Like this project? Remember to pin it and save for later!

So Simon has these Suzy’s Sizzling Series Water Color Paintable Prints and turns out they are awesome (there are a bunch of various sets out there, check out this link to see them all)! The set of prints from the Among the Stars release has really caught my eye and I had a blast coloring, I only colored one card so far, this one, but I plan to color a few more soon.

Basically, these cards are “ready to be colored card fronts”. All you need to do is color a card, adhere it onto an A2 card base (or bigger if you prefer), add a few tiny embellishments if you like (or don’t add anything) – and you are good to go.

I used Derwent Inktense Watercolor Pencils to color this card, I picked an evening, a movie, made a cup of tea and colored my heart out. I love that I didn’t have to stamp anything else (don’t get me wrong, I love stamping, but sometimes it takes a lot of time to come up with a nice stamped design to color), all I had to do – was to add color. I played around with several shades of yellow, orange, green and brown and also a few pink pencils to color this panel.

I love how Wanda always adds glitter to her stamped images, so I did the same here – I added Doodlebug large clear glitter with the help of Sakura Quickie Glue pen (I am all out of my Multi Medium in Matte finish adhesive – this is what I usually use, but this glue pen seems like a great option too) and also adhered several clear sequins and droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

By the way, I used this water brush to color. I know I have a different one in the photo as it was just there when I was grabbing stuff to take a picture, but I didn’t use it. I plan to in the future, it looks like it can hold a lot more water than my Zig brush.
