Simon Says Stamp | Color Blocking Take Two – Clean & Modern
Hello, friends! I always try to keep an eye out for various new trends and one of the trends I’ve been seeing a lot of lately, mostly in fashion, is color blocking. If you follow my blog, you might remember this 4-color color blocked card with fruits I shared a few weeks ago and today I have another take on this trend.

CARD DETAILS
This card is nothing more than 2 colors of cardstock (3, if you count white base) and some Antique Gold heat embossing. It doesn’t get much simpler than this.
To make this card I cut colored cardstock to 5 1/4″ x 2″ strips and secured two strips, a pink and a yellow, together from the back. Next, using clear embossing ink, I stamped image of a pineapple and a coordinating sentiment, coated with Antique Gold embossing powder from Simon Says Stamp and heat set.
Using a solid sheet of fun foam I foam mounted the color blocked panel onto an A2 white side folding card base. I also stamped a small sub sentiment that reads “I Love You” (comes from Simon Says Stamp, unfortunately I don’t remember from which set exactly) and after foam mounting it onto my card I added several drops using new Dream Drops product from Tonic Studios.
Of course a design like this is not something that would appeal to everyone, but sometimes, in the middle of winter especially, a bright pop of color is all one needs to cheer them up!

February 19, 2019Can you explain a bit more about color blocking? The idea is intriguing, but I don’t really understand the concept. If you already explained it in a video or blog post and I somehow missed it, I apologize. I really like the pink and yellow together. Do the colors need to be the same hue? Hmmmm. Hope you’re having fun in China!!!
