Simon Says Stamp | No Bunny Like You – Happy Easter Card

Hello, friends. We are safe. Today was a big and busy day as we drove to Lviv to pick up supplies for the army, all purchased using your generous donations! Thank you! If you want to donate, you can PayPal to lesyk77@hotmail.com.

The change of scenery did me good, too, as I feel much more cheerful and optimistic. I was just going to say that we haven’t had a single siren for an entire day, but as I was typing this post I started to hear the horrid sound outside. Ugh. Another run to the shelter, but at least we have a place to hide and I am beyond grateful for that.

CARD DETAILS

The card I have for you today is an Easter one. I put it together using various elements I had sitting on my desk, it is like one of those salads you make using whatever is left in the fridge (at least that’s how I make a salad), that’s how this card came about.

I used an adorable bunny die cut created using the Bunny Blessings stamp set. It is one of my faves for Spring/Easter cards and I have shared several cards using it HERE and HERE. I also added a picket fence created using a stamp from the Big Day set.

The sentiment is a printed one from Simon and the background is one I made ages ago, I think that stamp has been since discontinued.

War or no war I’ve decorated our home for Easter. You know the saying – my home is my fortress? That’s how I feel. And with Easter coming, regardless of the current events, I took the Easter decor out of storage and used it to decorate our home. Looking at it makes me happy. And I need all the “happy” I can get.

Big hugs to you all!

    1. What a great way to fight back (by decorating your home)!!!! So glad you were able to do something happy just for you and that you were able to enjoy a change of scenery. A friend told me years ago: “The best revenge is to live a good life.” Love always wins. Appreciate the updates when you’re able as well as Denzil’s daily updates. Adorable card!

    1. I’m so glad you’re managing to find some joy in your days! Nothing about what you’re going through makes any sense…no one should have to. But you’re doing so much to help your country and I pray someday soon the war ends. Blessings to you!

    1. I love your card! A new technique= the “card salad from supplies on our desk” technique! Such a great idea! I’m so glad you were able to have for a change of scenery to help bring you a little cheer. ☀️ I saw a news video yesterday of an 8 year old girl who had been in an eastern town recently taken back by Ukrainian soldiers. They showed the the cellar where she had been sheltering with her family. She had drawn lovely pictures all over the walls with chalk. She said, “the drawings are my therapy, they give me hope” and it reminded me of you continuing your beautiful cards…now she was able to draw on the sidewalk outside. I just want to thank you so much for all you’re doing. You and Oles are helping make it possible for this little girl to be outside again! Sending you strength and hope!

    1. Such a cute card Yana. I pray for all of you and I’m happy you are safe. I can’t imagine that feeling when the siren goes off. Your right at least you have a safe place to stay secure. Hopefully this will not go on much longer and lives can resume back to normal. Please stay safe. I will continue my prayers❤️❤️

    1. Sweet Easter card, Yana. That bunny is adorable! I love when I can make a card from leftovers still on my craft table. I’m happy that you were able to have a day, mostly free of sirens and heading to the shelter, and that you got to have a change of scenery. I am even happier that you decided to decorate for Easter. When things are so overwhelming, it is the little normalcies that mean so much – like decorating the house for the holiday, like you would every other year. You are such a strong young woman and such an inspiration. Praying that this horror will soon be over. Thank you for all you do.

    1. so glad to hear from you and relieved you’ve had a change of scene. perks me up, too! I love the card, the white crosshatch stamping on the background might also be achieved using a crosshatch stencil I saw more recently if the stamp you used is discontinued. be well. -d.

    1. What an adorable card! I am beyond thrilled to hear you are safe and that according to some things I have been hearing Ukraine may just win this war! Stay safe and stay free!

    1. Your Easter card is so, so sweet and pretty, Yana. I adore it. And how lovely that you’ve decorated for Easter, I’m so glad you’ve done that, just as you always do. Your trip to Lviv has clearly lifted your spirits, which is so good to know. I hope you have a safe night. You’re in my thoughts. Hugs & Love x

    1. Stay safe – the work you are doing is amazing. Your card is beautiful and I am donating today.
      God Bless you x
