Simon Says Stamp | Handmade Holidays Release – Good Cheer Card. Blog Hop + Free Gift
Hello, friends! I’m excited to join Simon Says Stamp for their Handmade Holidays Release blog hop. Once again this release is filled with amazing products and designs. My favorite? The Holly Branch embossing folder (there are many other wonderful folder designs).

CARD DETAILS
I started working on this card by stamping the sentiment on the Desert Storm panel cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink. Next, I dry embossed the Holly Branch folder on the stamped panel and went over the raised areas with a white pigment ink pad barely pressing the pad onto the paper. I love this technique.
Using a wide white pen I added faux snow onto the large lettering. I also used a smaller size white pen to add white snow dots. Lastly, I heat embossed the “Happy Holidays” in white embossing powder on red cardstock and foam mounted that onto the card for a pop of red.

November 11, 2021This is so beautiful! I saw your card earlier today and didn’t realize you did the “snow” with a white pen – I was sure it was embossed somehow. Love it!

November 11, 2021Sheer elegance Yana. I’ve tried putting a white pigment ink on top of a design, but inevitably I smear it onto the paper as well & spoiling it. You must have such a light touch. I just love this look.

November 12, 2021Beautiful card! I never have much luck swiping ink pad over raised area. Either too much, not enough or get ink where I don’t want it. I will need to try applying it another way, maybe just using my finger instead. I love the snow on letters.

November 12, 2021I love cards that have white ink and gel accents and never make them because I always smudge the ink. Wondering if you used a heat gun to dry the pigment ink, and have messed up gel pen using a heat gun. Gosh I love this card which feels impossible to me.
Linda Price
