Pretty Pink Posh | Christmas Greetings Card. Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello, friends! I’m excited to join Pretty Pink Posh for their October 2019 Release. It’s crazy how fast the time goes by, it feels like it was just Summer yesterday. I have a simple and easy to replicate card to share today using one of the new stencils – Leaves & Berries. This project was very much inspired by a card made by Adelle Emery, I simply love her work.

CARD DETAILS

The card is easy to make. Start by taping the stencil to a panel of dark blue cardstock. Next, apply gold glitter paste, or if you don’t have any, use white texture paste instead (this is what I used). Once you have a nice thick coat of paste applied, carefully remove the stencil and if you use texture paste then cover the panel with Gold Glitter embossing powder. Do remember to wash the stencil immediately after as the paste dries pretty quickly and it will damage the stencil if you don’t rinse it.

I left my panel to dry for about 20 minutes and next I used a heat tool and heat set the powder to melt it. I often like to ink blend the edges of my panels, so I used a dark blue ink pad and gently ink blended the edges to darken them. Do be careful doing this as the coarse glitter will damage the sponge of the ink blending tool.

I then heat embossed a simple sentiment that reads “Christmas Greetings” in Antique Gold embossing powder on red, trimmed it to a skinny strip and foam mounted on my card. Lastly, I used sequins from the Merry Confetti mix and adhere them over the dots, I also added additional smaller sequins directly to the card base.
