Hero Arts | November My Monthly Hero Blog Hop – Simple Heat Embossed Holiday Cards

UPDATE: PLEASE GO HERE TO SEE THE MOST RECENT HERO ARTS MY MONTHLY HERO BLOG HOP POST.

Hello all and thank you for stopping by today to help celebrate the launch of November My Monthly Hero Kit from Hero Arts (more about the kit and blog hop below).

This month kit is definitely a very fun one! Great for creating little home decor pieces or paper ornaments for the Christmas tree. I’m not sure if we will have a tree this year (I am still deciding), so I didn’t want to make any ornaments just yet. Instead, I used stamps from both main kit and one of the add-ons to create several simple heat embossed Holiday cards.

Like these projects? Pin them and save for later!

I used Simon’s Olive and Schoolhouse Red cardstock for the card you see above. I treated my Olive A2 top folding card base with an anti static powder tool and using my mini MISTI stamped a large snowflake triangle in Versamark ink.

I thought this triangle would look fantastic as a large Rockefeller Center-like Christmas tree. I added two lamp posts on each side of the triangle and a bench, also on each side. I stamped a sentiment that reads “May Your Holiday Be Warm & Cozy” and finally stamped Santa’s sleigh and two reindeer in the top.

As soon as my stamping was done I covered it with gold embossing powder and heat set it. I also heat embossed one additional sentiment and for that one I used Kelly’s Its Christmas Time, I heat embossed it in white embossing powder.

I also used a white gel pen and drew in little snow-like accents – snow on the benches and on the lamppost as well as little snow dots on the tree.

I made several cards, the design is the same on all, the difference is in the color of cardstock I used for the card base. Here’s one stamped on Simon’s Fog cardstock:

As always, I kept my cards rather simple. Because there’s very little dimension – they are very mail-friendly and do not require additional postage.

There are so many great things you can do with this month Hero Arts kit – the sky is the limit! I actually can’t wait to hop along all the stops of this hop and see what other designers have come up with.

    1. Yes, the cards are simple and simply elegant, Yana. I can hardly wait for my kit to arrive!

    1. What a lovely card! I love the gold on the green and also love that you have Santa and his sleigh flying over the tree and the rest of the scene. All those little stamps can really make a card look nice.

    1. These are very elegant cards! I love that you chose to use different colors of cardstock to get a slightly different look – what a great way to keep things fresh for you as you create! Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring!!!

    1. The cards are so elegant with the heat embossing.
      Love the white one best.
      thanks for sharing.

    1. I really like the plaid plate you set it on! I felt like it was really hard to see the tree on the card. I’m sure if I sought in person it would be different though.

    1. I love your cards but I like the green one better because it’s easier to see what you embossed on it. Both cards are very pretty and you said they are simple but they don’t look simple to me. Not that they look complicated to make because I now know how to emboss but embossing takes awhile to do. Love them both!

    1. The green card is my favorite!!! Both are lovely, though. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work!

    1. I never thought of using the triangle as a Christmas tree. Thinking outside the box, and using stamps in new ways, brilliant

    1. That pattern is just so beautiful. So simple but comes out lovely. Great idea for Christmas.

    1. Beautiful cards. I like the on stamped on Fog best. The gold on it just pops. Very nice!

    1. Thanks for sharing so many great ideas and beautiful cards. I’m always looking forward to what’s next.
